Today we provided our clients with 80 wonderful lunch bags filled with sandwiches, water bottles, pairs of socks, and snacks. These generous bags were packaged and donated by the Amazing Grace Foundation in honor of Grace Miller. Thank you to all who helped prepare these bags - our clients greatly appreciated them and the lovely messages written on each bag!

We are excited to share that we will be a returning partner agency at this year's CT Foodshare Walk Against Hunger!

All proceeds raised for Loaves and Fishes at the Walk will go directly to us, supporting our soup kitchen, job counseling program, and sewing and knitting classes.

This event is a major fundraiser for us, and so major involvement from volunteers means a big difference to our programs.

We are excited to share that we have been selected as the beneficiary of Stop and Shop's Bloomin' 4 Good program for the month of March!

Visit the 1235 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, Stop & Shop location to purchase a $10.99 Bloomin' 4 Good Bouquet with the red circle sticker on it - for every bouquet purchased, Loaves and Fishes will receive a $1 donation.

This past Monday, January 12th, our meal was sponsored by Purnima Bramhavar in honor of Deepak Bramhavar. For the second year in a row, clients enjoyed a wonderful lunch, this time of vegetarian lasagna, in his memory.

Thank you to Purnima for her generosity - we are grateful to be able to honor Deepak in this way.

We hope everyone had a wonderful and restful holiday season! We want to give a shout-out to all who donated, volunteered, and helped Loaves and Fishes throughout the holidays, including the Max Cares Foundation. Inc. and their Roasts for the Holidays program - we couldn't have done it without you all.

A special thanks to Refuge Tattoos - because of their generous donations of toys and other presents, we were able to give Christmas gifts to families with children in our community. We are so grateful for their generosity!

Happy Thanksgiving from everyone here at Loaves and Fishes! We hope all of you had a festive and restful holiday.

Our holiday meal was a wonderful event enjoyed by 92 clients this year - each person got a plate full of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, vegetables, and bread, as well as hand knit hats and scarves from the knitters at Avery Heights on their way out.

A big thank you to our volunteers for serving the meal, as well as all who donated pies and other holiday treats. And a major shout out to our talented chefs, Mary and Hector, who put together our Thanksgiving feast! We are grateful for you and all you do for us!

Halloween was a huge success here at Loaves and Fishes!
Volunteers from Aetna decorated our dining hall, decking it out with jack-o-lanterns, witch hats, and spooky streamers galore.
Each client received a dental health kit on their way out from Sun Life and DentaQuest, as well as a bag of candy from our Aetna volunteers.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this Halloween one to remember!

We were so happy to welcome students from the Loomis Chaffee School to Loaves and Fishes Ministries this morning as part of their Freshman Service Morning!

Thirteen students in the freshman class came to learn more about our work in the community and to get involved with our soup kitchen. They made 100 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for our clients to take home with them after our lunchtime meal today – we are so grateful for their contribution to our program and their readiness to get involved!
