On behalf of Fire Chief Rodney L. Barco, the Command Staff, and all Hartford Fire Department members, we extend our sincere gratitude to Barbara Kiefer, Kathleen Eder, and the dedicated volunteers of the CT Valley Garden Club. 🌿

This remarkable group once again partnered with our firefighters to enhance the grounds of Engine Company 7 in Hartford’s Northeast neighborhood.

Three years ago, through their generosity and hard work, they transformed the station’s exterior with the donation of a beautiful bench, fresh mulch, shrubs, and plants, creating a lasting improvement for both our firehouse and the surrounding community. This year, they returned to refresh and maintain those gardens, ensuring the grounds continue to be a source of pride for all who visit.

Their commitment to community beautification extends far beyond Engine Company 7. In the coming weeks, CT Valley Garden Club volunteers are also scheduled to help beautify the grounds at Engine Companies 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 11, and 14, bringing their talents and generosity to firehouses across the city.

Their ongoing support of our department and dedication to making Hartford a more vibrant and welcoming community is truly appreciated. Partnerships like these strengthen our neighborhoods and make Hartford an even better place to live and work.

Thank you for your continued dedication, generosity, and friendship. We are honored to work alongside you.

The members of the Hartford Fire Department extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and brothers and sisters of Boston Firefighters Local 718 IAFF and Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts (PFFM) on the loss of Firefighter Kilduff of Rescue Company 2.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all who knew and served beside him during this difficult time. May he rest in peace πŸ™πŸ½

Robert β€œBK" Kilduff, Jr. exemplified what it meant to be a union firefighter. BK was passionate about his profession, assigned to Rescue Company 2, and passionate about improving the lives of his fellow brothers and sisters, working as a staff member of the PFFM for the last 15 years.

More than anything else, BK was passionate about being a father. The PFFM sends all of our love and support to both of his children and will stand with Boston Firefighters Local 718 IAFF to ensure they have whatever they need.

Rest easy BK.
