In its sixth year, our Life-Skills Summer Youth Program kicked off with a get-acquainted session followed by a festive Juneteenth celebration. The scholars engaged in an in-depth discussion about the meaning, purpose, and importance of celebrating Juneteenth, all while enjoying traditional delicacies.

During our second session, we covered a variety of topics, including Civic Engagement, etiquette (table manners, appropriate attire, and the impact of inappropriate social media posts), as well as friendships vs. associates, loyalty, and betrayal. The attendees are well on their way to mastering cursive writing!

We are once again fortunate to have an amazing group of individuals, along with two dedicated and motivated interns, one of whom commutes from New Jersey every Saturday.

I am looking forward to yet another successful session!

The final meeting of the Hybrid Book club took place today, with our Beloved Readers sharing impressive insights during the discussion of the book's final chapters. They will be missed.

Today marked an exciting milestone as we gathered for our inaugural meeting with our “Beloved Readers.” The discussion surrounding the book selection was not only engaging but also brimming with insightful perspectives. The scholars passionately shared their comments and opinions. Their enthusiasm for the material sparked lively debates and deep reflections, creating an atmosphere that was both enlightening and inspiring.💜🙌🏾🥰
