Katharine Hepburn (1907-2003) was an film, stage, and television actress whose career spanned more than 60 years. She brought her personality to each role and commonly played strong-willed, independent, sophisticated women. For her work she received four Academy Awards for Best Actress and was named by the American Film Institute as the greatest female star of classic Hollywood cinema.

Fun Fact: Katharine Hepburn held the record for the most Academy Award nominations for Best Actress until 2002, when Meryl Streep got her 13th nomination.

Anna-Lou "Annie" Leibovitz (b. 1949) is a photographer best known for her iconic portraits of celebrities. The daughter of a lieutenant colonel in the US Air Force and a modern dance instructor, Annie Leibovitz first started taking pictures when she was stationed in the Philippines during the Vietnam War and went on to attend the San Francisco Art Institute. She went on to become the Chief Photographer of Rolling Stone magazine for ten years her portraits include the last photograph of John Lennon which has been widely viewed as the magazine's most famous cover.

Among her accolades and awards is her recognition by the Library of Congress as a Living Legend.

Fun Fact: Annie Leibovitz was the first woman to have a feature exhibition at Washington's National Portrait Gallery.

Takara Matthews is an African-American and Native American artist born in Naugatuck, CT. Now residing in Vermont she designs Powwow gear, including doing beadwork and threadwork on her crafts. She is a dancer as well, having participated in the Flynn dance Performance From the New World in 2009. A member of the Abenaki Nation of Missisquoi, her work often features the use of vibrant colors and modern designs. In 2014, Takara was a featured artist at the Institute for American Indian Studies in Washington, CT.

Fun Fact: Takara has earned 1st Place in the Dartmouth Powwow, and 3rd Place in the Mohegan Sun Powwow.

An educator, musician, workshop facilitator, key note speaker, visual and performing artist whose free expression through percussion, poetry, theatre and dance, is meant to honor our ancestors, promote social justice, health and healing, and elevate our youth. Julissa is a graduate of Trinity College, a member of MALCS (Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social), Real Live Theatre Company, Enchanted Circle Theatre and an associate artist with Serious Play! Theatre Ensemble. Their/her passion for the arts and social justice has taken them/her around the country and across the globe.
