🏠 Energy assistance applications are now open!

Applications for the 2026–2027 Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) are now open as of today. Eligible households may receive $355–$705 to help with winter heating costs, with additional assistance potentially available for households that heat with oil, kerosene, or propane. Funding is provided through the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

🗓️Applications are accepted from now through May 31, 2027.

If you or someone you know may need help heating your home this winter, I encourage you to apply. If you need assistance with the application process, please reach out to my office. We will help and connect you with the resources you need.

🏆 I’m proud to be named an Affordability Champion by CBIA and earn a perfect 100% score for my pro-business voting record during the 2026 legislative session!

Our local businesses create jobs, support families and invest in our communities. Helping them succeed goes hand in hand with making Connecticut more affordable for the people who live, work and raise families here.

Too many Connecticut families are working hard and still struggling to keep up with electric bills, healthcare, housing and everyday expenses. Our state must do more to deliver real relief so people have the opportunity to get ahead.

Thank you to the Connecticut Business & Industry Association for this recognition. Lowering costs, supporting small businesses and expanding opportunities remain priorities for me. I’ll keep fighting for a Connecticut where people can afford to stay and businesses thrive.

It was great joining State Representative Karen Reddington-Hughes at the Gooseboro Drive-In LLC. to present a citation recognizing an incredible 65 years in business.

For generations, the Downes family and their team have welcomed longtime customers and new faces alike, serving up summer favorites and creating memories along the way.

Congratulations to the entire Gooseboro Drive-In family on this remarkable milestone. Here’s to many more summers of delicious food! 🍔🎉

This is great news for New Milford.

Thank you to New Milford Mayor - Pete Bass, our town officials, fellow legislators, and most importantly, the residents and community groups who worked hard to make their voices heard.

I was proud to stand with the New Milford community in raising concerns about this proposed project, and I’m very pleased to see this outcome.

Thank you to everyone who stayed engaged and advocated for our community.

Flatiron Battery Storage Facility Project update: In speaking with Attorney John Tower from Cramer and Anderson, who has been assisting the Town in the Flatiron project and addressing our concerns about the project.
Flatiron has decided not to pursue the Battery Storage project at this location. The company does have lease and option rights currently on this property, but no applications for any other type of project on this property, either to the Town or PURA, have been applied for.
Thank you to our New Milford Town Council members and past members, Town Depts, Town Attorney Randy DiBella, John Tower for their continued work, State Senator Steve Harding, State Rep Buckbee,
State Rep. Callahan, Buchsbaum for all of their assistance.

🏥It was an honor presenting Sharon Hospital with a citation recognizing an incredible achievement of earning a five-star quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for the seventh consecutive year.

This national recognition reflects what our district already knows. Sharon Hospital’s doctors, nurses, caregivers and staff are deeply committed to providing exceptional, compassionate care to the people of northwest Connecticut.

From patient safety and experience to timely, high-quality care, earning the highest possible rating seven years in a row is no small accomplishment. It is a testament to the dedicated professionals who work every day to care for our neighbors and strengthen the health of our communities.

Congratulations to President Christina McCulloch and the entire Sharon Hospital team on this well-deserved recognition. I am proud to have such an outstanding healthcare institution serving our region!

It was great joining Gary Byron on The Talk of Connecticut this morning alongside House Republican Leader State Representative Vincent Candelora for a conversation about the issues impacting people across our state.

We took calls from listeners and talked about what Connecticut Republicans are fighting for at the State Capitol - making our state more affordable.

From the grocery store to your tax bill, electric rates and health insurance premiums, the cost of living is too high! Republicans are working to lower those costs while maintaining fiscal discipline, cutting wasteful spending and supporting the law enforcement officers who keep our communities safe.

It comes down to bringing COMMON SENSE to Hartford and making Connecticut a more affordable place to live, work and raise a family.
