⚾🥎 BLACKFORD COUNTY BRINGS HOME THE CHAMPIONSHIP! 🥎⚾

Today, members of Blackford County Law Enforcement traveled to Hamilton County to participate in the Universal Cares Softball Slamfest, a charity softball tournament benefiting the important work of Universal Cares, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Indiana families and communities through service projects, outreach programs, school supply drives, assistance for families facing hardships, clothing and household needs, and partnerships with organizations serving children and families across the state.

Our team was proud to represent Blackford County both on and off the field. Through teamwork, determination, and a little friendly competition, we brought home 1st Place! 🏆

More importantly, we were honored to support a great cause that makes a real difference in the lives of Hoosiers every day.

A huge thank you goes out to our sponsors who helped make our participation possible:

* Brass Bell
* AMVETS Post 12
* American Legion Post 159
* CW Enterprise

Your support allowed us to represent Blackford County while helping raise funds for an organization that gives back to communities throughout Indiana.

Congratulations to all of the players, volunteers, organizers, and sponsors who made today’s event a success. Blackford County was represented well, and we’re proud to bring the championship trophy back home!

Today was a great reminder of how important positive community connections are. We had the opportunity to spend time with local students, answer questions, explore our police vehicles, and of course… let them hit the lights, sirens, and air horn! 🚔🚨

The Hartford City Police Department will be cheering on Officer Little as he completes 16 weeks of training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. During this time, he will receive essential instruction that will help guide him throughout his career in law enforcement. We wish Officer Little the very best and can’t wait to see him back serving the community of Hartford City.

🎢Blackford County always finds a way to show up for our kids.🎢

After receiving a request from Blackford County Schools to help make the 7th grade trip to Kings Island possible, the Hartford City Police Department and Hartford City American Legion Post 159 teamed up to make sure the transportation costs were fully covered.

We’re especially proud to partner with the American Legion. Their continued involvement and commitment to our community—especially when it comes to supporting local youth—does not go unnoticed.

For many of these students, this isn’t just a field trip—it’s their first opportunity to experience something outside of our community. No student should miss out because of financial barriers, and we weren’t going to let that happen.

This is what Blackford County is all about—neighbors helping neighbors and investing in the next generation.

We’re proud to support our schools and even more proud of these kids. Have a great trip on May 8th—we’ll be cheering you

🚨✨ May the 4th Be With You ✨🚨

In a galaxy not so far away… your local police department has officially joined the fight to keep the peace across the universe.

Today, a few of our officers traded in their badges for lightsabers and stepped into the Star Wars world — proving that whether it’s the Dark Side or the daily grind, they’re always ready to protect and serve.

From all of us here at the department: stay safe, drive smart, and remember… the Force is strong with those who follow the law.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Murph Challenge 🇺🇸

Join us this Memorial Day as we come together for something bigger than just a workout.

This event is about fun, fellowship, and honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice—the ones who no longer have the opportunity to push themselves, to feel the burn, or to stand beside us. We do it for them.

The Murph is meant to be tough. It’s designed to push you past your limits—but that doesn’t mean it’s only for the elite.
👉 Can’t do pull-ups? Bring a band and get after assisted reps.
👉 Push-ups too much? Drop to your knees and keep moving.
Many participants do not wear a vest.

This event is about showing up, supporting each other, and grinding through it together—no matter where you are in your fitness journey.

💥 NEW THIS YEAR – BEAT THE SHERIFF CHALLENGE 💥
For those who want to take it to the next level…

Must wear a weighted vest
Must have reps counted by a volunteer

🏆 Beat the Sheriff, and you’ll earn:
✔️ A Blackford County Sheriff’s Office Challenge Coin
✔️ Facebook recognition (and bragging rights)

👕 All participants will receive a Murph Challenge T-shirt
🌭 Stick around after—we’ll be grilling food and hanging out

Last year was our biggest yet… let’s make this one even better.

Bring your friends. Bring your family. Bring some grit.

🇺🇸 Let’s honor the fallen the right way—together. 🇺🇸
