City of Hart Residents – We Need Your Help! 🚒❄️

With the heavy snowfall this winter, we kindly ask residents who have a fire hydrant near their home to help keep the area around it clear of snow. This small effort makes a big difference for our DPW and Fire Department and can save valuable time in the event of an emergency.

We truly appreciate the ongoing support of our wonderful residents. It’s community spirit like yours that makes the City of Hart such a warm, welcoming, and top-notch place to live!

Thank you for helping keep our community safe!

We’re part of the crew that shows up when fun turns bad—help us not meet today.

We’ve seen a thing or two out here, and these tips help keep everyone safe:

•Don’t take a hot lap first—cruise the area and check for changes (dune terrain can change overnight or faster with wind and weather)
•Watch in all directions—you’re sharing the sand with a lot of riders
•All types of skill levels are out here—everyone’s responsible to look out for each other
•Always leave yourself room to react to the unexpected
•Ride within your ability and be courteous

We’re here if you need us. Ride smart. Make it home. 🏁

Saturday evening, Hesperia Area Fire Department was dispatched along with automatic aid to a commercial fire at David Allen Racing on South Maple Island Rd in Greenwood Twp. First arriving units confirmed a working fire with heavy smoke and fire, and a defensive fire attack was initiated utilizing two engines with multiple handlines, two aerial devices and multiple tankers shuttling water from various water sources. Units were on scene for just over six hours ensuring the fire was out. We would like to thank the responding departments listed below ( our apologies if we forget to mention anyone) for their assistance and appreciate that through cooperative mutual aid agreements with all surrounding agencies we can assure we all have the resources to mitigate these unusual but major events. We would also like to thank Consumer's Energy and DTE for their response to shut off utilities and Vandezande Excavating for responding with an excavator and operator to overhaul the fire and clear debris. Finally we would thank the community for their support and understanding while we disrupted traffic flow to provide a safe scene for our firefighters.
