M20 is open for traffic now that the surface portion of the Tunnel project is ready for motorists. Improvements include a new right turn lane on M20 for eastbound traffic entering 68th Ave and the addition of a center turn lane, widening and new pavement on 68th Ave. The base paint on the face and wing walls of the tunnel with contrasting color staining is complete and the pedestrian fence has been installed. The contractor has installed seeding, mulch, blanket, and rip rap for slope protection. It really has a nice appearance. Both roads have striping installed. Work will continue on the tunnel including electrical and lighting.

MAPLE ISLAND ROAD IS CLOSED IN MUSKEGON COUNTY
(at Sweeter Rd. and N. Bayne Rd)

The firm detour is M-46 (Apple Ave) to US-31 to M-120 to Ryerson Rd east to Maple Island Rd and north again.


On the south end:

1. There will be a soft closure at White Rd and Maple Island Rd to kick cars west on White Rd back to M-46.
2. Hard closure will be north of that at Bayne Rd with barricades across the whole road, no snow fence unless EOC advises per evacuations or what not.

On the north end:

1. There will be a hard closure at Sweeter Rd, same set up as the hard closure on the south end.

*M-120 is closed at Cedar Creek in Holton Township for highwater as well.

With countywide flooding, please use caution when driving. There are many unexpected places with water over the road. We continue to monitor water at bridge levels. The Governor has declared a state of emergency for multiple counties, including Oceana. Currently, we have no major roads closed due to flooding, but do have erosion and wash outs County wide. Avoid driving through water. Please exercise, extreme caution!
