Cowgirl Camp is a rustic, outdoor, b.y.o.tent, educational camping experience for women of all ages, promoting self-care, self-reliance, sustainability, and sisterhood. Cowgirl Camp provides a place where women of all ages can immerse themselves in the healing world of nature, practice outdoor living skills, expand knowledge through classes and workshops, and make new friends for future adventures

. The Chaplin River runs along our property for nearly a mile, we have a big gathering hill where you can marvel at the open, ever-changing sky, and lots of enchanting wildlife lives here. If you've always wanted to learn to camp or become more outdoorsy but been to afraid to venture out on your own, this experience will not only give you an opportunity to camp outside in your own tent, but it offers fun activities and interesting classes. In the case of rain we may adapt/adjust classes and schedules if needed, but we do not cancel due to inclement weather. If it happens, consider it an opportunity to practice your rain survival skills. Or you can consider it a donation going directly towards amenities to make future Little Wing Hollow events even better.

Hey sweet ladyfriends,
I'm sorry, but due to farm projects and some rearranging of my life, I'm not able to host this Fall. (Might organize a Cowgirl Camp reunion in October...but the 3-day event just isn't going to work.) My plate is too full to pull it off and I need to focus my attention on other projects. Apologies if you were looking forward to attending. We'll do it again, I promise.
Here's the really, really GREAT news though:
A brand new super fun event is on the calendar, here at in September, and it is going to be amazing! I'm truly excited! If you've enjoyed Cowgirl Camp in the past, I guarantee you will LOVE Amy Byers Figgs and Donna Ison's Woo Women Charm School. Sign-ups are open now and they're even offering day passes to accommodate busy schedules. I'd really love to see some Cowgirls get their Woo Women badges this Fall. I’ll be right here in the thick of it all getting my WOO on! Check out their incredible lineup of instructors and register today!

Hi Cowgirls! I still haven't made up my mind about whether I'm hosting Cowgirl Camp this year, but if I do, it'll be in October. That being said, I'd like to invite all of you to my first ever Goddess Tea Party!

Hey Cowgirls~ I know you're probably super sad not to have a spankin' new Cowgirl Camp t-shirt this summer ;) ...so I wanted to let you know about a new linoleum block print I created for Calliope Arts Covid-19 Artist relief project. I think you will dig it.
It says, "Step outside, clear your mind, you will find, peace and magic."
Prints are available now through Calliope's online store and t-shirts will be available soon. 18 other artists besides me are featured and some really cool artworks are being offered. Please check them out and consider supporting the project. Thank you!

This past weekend would have been Cowgirl Camp's 2020 gathering. Classes, paddling, laughing, lounging, dinner, music, party. So very sad we had to cancel. I thought about you gals all weekend. Would you believe it didn't even rain for once? Crazy.
This is a photo of me by the fire on Saturday night missing you. We would have just had a delicious dinner by Judy Gurnee Catering and would have been enjoying a wonderful solo sunset concert by Heather Summers.
Had some very sweet friends come visit and watch the sunset with me, though. That was next best thing. Several shooting stars made it extra special. ❤
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you next summer. I'm already planning some new projects and might tweak the format a smidge. If you have any suggestions, I am always open to hearing them.
Also, in case you didn't already know, you can make camping reservations through Hipcamp now:
Frisbee Field is looking cute! I hope to have the studio open for overnight visits soon, too.
Thanks again, friends. I have appreciated your sweet messages and texts over the past few days. What a lovely tribe y'all are. I am lucky to know every single one of you.

Today would have been arrival day for Cowgirl Camp. :(
I don't regret my decision to cancel this summer's event, but I can't help feeling blue about missing all of you. More than anything, my very favorite part of camp is meeting and making friends with so many amazing, interesting, kind women and girls. A dose of your collective Cowgirl Nature Goddess energy sure would be sweet about now. It's a powerful magic. I also want to let you know that tent camping reservations are now available though Hipcamp. (See link below) You don't have to wait until next year to come get a teeny dose of Little Wing, after all! The cabin isn't available yet due to Covid and some small construction projects, but hopefully it will be soon. Kayak rentals are also up and running. (Info at www.littlewinghollow.com ) Big love to all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support.

Hi Cowgirls, Hope all of you are doing okay. Crazy days, eh? It's all starting to get to me, I think. I'm reevaluating everything and taking action to simplify my life as much as possible. I'm posting here to let you know that I'm going to be taking a break from Facebook in the coming weeks. I'm not sure how long I'll be gone. Maybe a few days. Maybe the rest of the year. I'm going behind the scenes to work on integrating all Little Wing Hollow events and activities to be accessed through one main Little Wing Hollow website. Cowgirl Camp info and registration will stem from there, as will Hipcamp reservations and kayak and canoe rentals.
I've realized that I just have too many websites, pages, emails and such to maintain. This forces me to spend more time on the computer and less time building and Art & Nature Sanctuary for you to enjoy.
I plan on keeping the Little Wing Hollow Instagram account. I'll be moving Cowgirl Camp's Instagram photos there as well.
Please feel free to grab pix of yourself from the albums here and download them for safe keeping. Love y'all lots. Still super sad I won't be seeing you this summer. Don't forget to follow www.instagram.com/littlewinghollow

Howdy, Cowgirls.

I’ve procrastinated making this post but have had you on my mind each day while listening to Governor Andy's updates for cues on what to do about this year's Cowgirl Camp. I’ve been hoping for the best while trying to be realistic about the situation.

Recently, Phase 1 of Kentucky's COVID-19 Re-Opening Plan was announced. Unfortunately, it does not include campgrounds or summer camps for the month of May and KY.gov’s website suggests it could be sometime in June or July before restrictions are lifted. Once lifted, strict safety guidelines and sanitizing protocol are required.

Socializing in groups of up to 10 people is going to be allowed beginning on May 25th. This new development is wonderful news, but truthfully I just can’t see Andy scaling from gatherings of 10 to 50 in less than a month’s time. Possible, yes. Probable, no.

Just in the past couple of days, I've noticed many other local camps/events scheduled for June and even July are starting to cancel or reschedule. I'm sure they are weighing the same sort of concerns.

It’s been a really difficult decision, but Cowgirl Camp is cancelled for this year. I'm sorry.

As I mentioned before, I have no desire to put you, your direct contacts, or any instructors, vendors, or volunteers in harm’s way and I’m sure each of you have your own personal covid-related lifestyle changes, challenges, restrictions, and exposure concerns, as well.

Please mark your calendar for next year's gathering in June of 2021. All ticket sales will be refunded this year.

I look forward to Cowgirl Camp all year long. I’m extremely bummed and a little teary but feel in my gut cancelling is the right thing to do.

Much love and may silver linings illuminate our paths forward.

Hello, Cowgirls. How are y'all getting along out there? Are you surviving? I sure hope you're doing okay. You've been on my mind a lot. Even for a hermit like me, this current situation and the uncertainty it embraces is quite difficult to navigate. I feel lucky to have room to roam and reminders of hope, beauty, and rebirth along my daily walks, but still...it's hard.
It's been a month and a day since my last post.
Wanted to let you know I'm still up on the air on whether to cancel our gathering or not. Some local festivals and gatherings such as Playthink scheduled in June have already been cancelled. Some, such as MYPATH, are still holding onto hopes that we get back to normal in a month or so and have not cancelled.
The optimist in me hopes the show goes on as planned, but the realist in me says we will still be following some sort of social distancing protocols varied by state and I don't want to push our luck and put anyone at risk.
Honestly, gals... I have a feeling in my heart that we're going to have to cancel Cowgirl Camp. I'm still going to wait a couple more weeks before I make the final decision, but it comes down to this. I do not want to put anyone at risk for a little fun in the woods and there are a lot of folks that come together to make this event happen. Not only campers, instructors, vendors, and musicians, but volunteers behind the scenes that help me start pulling things together weeks in advance.
As promised, if this is the case, I will be offering refunds for those of you that have already purchased tickets. We were off to a fantastic start. Over 1/3 of tickets sold in the in first 72 hours. Sincere thanks to you that were so excited to purchase your tickets and secure your spot. Your enthusiasm feeds my commitment to hosting these events. Sadly, and 100% understandably, no further ticket sales since.
Anyway, my "short little update" has become a bit longer than intended. I love you gals a bunch (and the handful of fellas that help us each year) and wanted to let you know what the feeling is on this end at the moment.
Prayers and hugs to all of you. Be safe out there.
As our dear Andy says, "We're gonna get through this.
We're gonna get through this together."

No one has asked yet, but I wanted to put this out there:
If we are still under a State of Emergency order in June due to the Cornonavirus, I will cancel the event and refund your money. If restaurants and businesses are back to normal by June, we will plan on having the event. I'm really, really hoping the show can go on, but if not, please rest assured I have no intention of putting anyone in harm's way. I love y'all too much.
Everyone be safe out there.
