The Board of Trustees would like to thank our Executive Director, Erin Hammerstedt, for seven years of amazing work for Historic Harrisville and our community as a whole. Erin recently helped secure funding for the rehabilitation of St. Denis as a community center, a project that will be completed in the next year. Other projects include obtaining funding for our hydroelectric facility, overseeing improvements to the General Store kitchen, updating our archive cataloging software, and the rehabilitation of 119 and 121 Main Street, which added three units of affordable housing to HHI's portfolio. She also led the HHI team in rehabilitating the Alma Allen studio and adding two additional commercial rentals to the Granite Mill. She has been an essential part of many community projects and offered her preservation and grant experience to other organizations throughout the state. The board and staff will miss her! We wish her well as she begins her new position as Executive Director of Canterbury Shaker Village. Best of luck, Erin!

At the end of this month, Historic Harrisville’s Executive Director Erin Hammerstedt will be leaving the organization to begin work as the Executive Director of Canterbury Shaker Village in Canterbury, NH. Erin will be leaving her job at HHI, but not the community of Harrisville. She will continue to live (part time) in her house on Main Street and be a neighbor and active member of the community. So this is not time for “goodbye,” but rather for “see you soon.” Please join us for a Happy Hour from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, August 26th, at Erin’s home at 15 Main Street in Harrisville.
