The Town of Burrillville Housing Authority has updated both plans to be compliant with HUD’s Final Rule implementing Sections 102, 103, and 104 of the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA)

The Plans will be effective January 1, 2025.

The Board of Commissioners are seeking public comment regarding the options of the policy.

Public Comments must be submitted in writing to the Management Office at 77 Ashton Court, Harrisville, RI 02830. It must include your name and address.

Public Comment closed on September 16, 2024.

The Plan’s will be voted on by the Board of Commissioners at the October 9,2024 regular meeting.

HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER PROGRAM

Continued Acceptance of Pre-Applications

The Burrillville Housing Authority has a Local Preference for the Housing Choice Voucher Program and is electing to continue to accept pre-applications from families that qualify for the preference in accordance with its Admin Plan 4-II.C. [24 CFR 982.206]

Local Preference is for applicants who reside or work full time (32 hours week) in the Town of Burrillville, RI.
• The family must live, or at least one member must have employment within the limits of the Township of Burrillville, RI (Glendale, Harrisville, Mapleville, Mohegan, Nasonville, Oakland, and Pascoag)

A copy of a Photo ID and/or Pay Stub required to evidence qualification of local preference.

Burrillville Housing Authority may close the list once the waiting period for assistance reaches 24 months for the most current applicant.

Preapplications will be available at the management office at 77 Ashton Court, Burrillville, RI 02830.

Pre-applicants requiring a reasonable accommodation may contact Burrillville Housing at by phone at (401) 568-6200.

The HCVP waiting list is Closed and is only accepting pre-application from families that can evidence that they qualify for the Local preference.

Burrillville Housing Authority is seeking proposals / quotes for ventilation cleaning at Ashton Court, 77 Ashton Court, Harrisville, RI 02830.

Ashton Court has 76 apartments in 10 buildings.

Three (3) Garden Style Buildings (two-story) with 16 apartments each, requires stove vent duct cleaning and bathroom vent cleaning.

Seven (7) Cottage Style Buildings (single story) with 4 apartments each, need bathroom vent cleaning.

Please call (401) 568-6200 to schedule an inspection for quote. Quotes need to be received by April 26, 2023.
