We had a great meeting today! We celebrated the end to the school year with our Bright Futures Harrisonville Classroom Partner - Mrs. Jimenez's 4th Grade Wildcats! We invited them to join us for our weekly meeting and enjoyed pizza, conversation and a great program by Yaya's Alpaca Farm. Special thanks to the Harrisonville Athletic Booster Club for the use of Big Blue to get the students to and from our meeting!

We had a great time feeding lunch to the Harrisonville High School senior class after their Senior Day of Service this morning! They definitely demonstrated “Service Above Self” in their work despite today’s rain & cool temps.

Special thanks to Sonic for donating the hot dogs & buns and to the Methodist Church for hosting.

Shout out to Rotarians Jason, Erik, & Jon for braving the elements to grill the hot dogs.

A fun morning planting a shade garden with our Bright Futures Harrisonville Classroom Partner thanks to Rotarian Nancy. Mrs. Jimenez's 4th Grade Wildcats helped plant hostas in an area by the library that doesn’t get a lot of sun. There was also a bit of sidewalk chalk fun once they finished planting.

Our annual Bright Futures Harrisonville Classroom Partner visit to Rockford One-Room Schoolhouse was another hit! Mr. Foster talked to Mrs. Jimenez's 4th Grade Wildcats about school life when he was a 4th grader. He brought an example of his lunch in a pail, told them about his favorite subject - math, and talked about how he got to school 🐴. The kids had great questions & enjoyed looking around the school.

I've always been involved with civic organizations in the different places I've lived, including a previous Rotary Club in Springdale, Arkansas. I asked my neighbor Larry Pfautsch for advice on various opportunities in the community to serve, and he invited me to a meeting of the Harrisonville Rotary Club.
