* Learn to teach confidently at home and abroad

* Graduate with “Global Education” on your diploma, which is only offered at JMU

Joy Myers, Chelsey Bahlmann Bollinger, and Alicia Berry have published a new book chapter, “The Critical Role of Writing Instruction in Teacher Education: Revisiting the Writer’s Notebook.”

The chapter appears in Making It Write: The Lost Art of Writing Instruction in Teacher Education Programs, edited by Bethany M. Rice and Stephanie M. Moody and published by Peter Lang in 2026.

The chapter highlights the importance of preparing future teachers to see themselves as writers and explores the writer’s notebook as a meaningful tool for supporting writing instruction in teacher education.
