Please take a moment to read this post. Nena Jo McMillin, our juror for Ward 3 is always putting in work to help make our parish see some much needed positive changes. It was recently brought to my attention about a little girl named Lila and her amazing story, and it truly touched my heart. So I wanted to share some good news with our community.
Nena Jo, reached out to Lila’s Patrol Pals, and Lila will be joining us at the Police Jury meeting on June 8th at 6:00pm. She will be bringing several boxes of stuffed animals that our first responders can give to children who are facing difficult situations. A simple stuffed animal can provide comfort during some of a child’s hardest moments.
Lila is the granddaughter of Raymond and Bobbie Rouse and Benny and Melba Neal of Jonesville, and we are proud to recognize the positive impact she is making.
I think we can all agree that Catahoula Parish could use a positive story, and this is one that brings our community together while helping local children in need.
Donations are NOT expected, but I, Ashley Lazarus, and other jurors will be making a personal contribution of stuffed animals, to support Lila’s Patrol Pals. If anyone would like to make a donation as well, I know it would be greatly appreciated and would help continue this wonderful mission.
Thank you, Lila, for your kindness and for making a difference in the lives of children and families. Thank you for also being a light for our most vulnerable citizens in hard situations.
If anyone would like to make a donation to help Lila continue this heartwarming journey, you may drop your NEW OR USED stuffed animals or monetary donations at the Catahoula Parish Police Jury Office OR you are welcome to join us on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 6:00pm in our Jury Meeting room to give to Lila in person.
Thank you all for your continued support,
Ashley Lazarus
