Wow... what a day.
As we prepare for tomorrow's Grand Opening of Warriors Retreat, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. Today was a beautiful reminder that this community has been built by people who simply chose to show up.
A special thank you to the student volunteers from Harrison High School, including a great group of football players who jumped in to help wherever they were needed.
Thank you to Justin and the volunteer crew from The The Home Depot Foundationfor continuing to pour into this project. To Brian Fox, who traveled far to serve as our Grill Master for tomorrow's celebration. To Chris Johnson, who flew in from North Carolina to be with us. To Danny Hall for clearing additional parking areas. To Recovery Center of the Ozarks for helping with limb removal. And to our family, friends, neighbors, and everyone else who gave their time, equipment, encouragement, and support—thank you.
The most meaningful part of today wasn't just watching the work get done. It was watching our Veterans become a community. They shared meals, swapped stories, laughed together, helped one another, and one even gave another a haircut.
That's what Warriors Retreat is all about.
Not just housing.
Not just buildings.
A place where Veterans belong.
Tomorrow we cut a ribbon. Today, we witnessed the mission coming to life. 🇺🇸❤️

🏡 Every Veteran deserves a place to call home.

Warriors Retreat is helping make that a reality by providing affordable housing, peer support, and connections to resources that help Veterans heal, thrive, and build a brighter future.

Join us as we celebrate this inspiring mission with a Ribbon Cutting! If you have a group joining us we encourage you to carpool when possible. We will have some volunteers helping direct guests to parking at the back of the property.

Today we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy because of the men and women who raised their right hand and answered the call to defend our nation's independence.

To our brothers and sisters who have served—thank you for your sacrifice, your courage, and your unwavering commitment to protecting the freedoms we often take for granted.

As we celebrate the birth of our nation this Fourth of July weekend, I'm reminded that the sacrifices our Veterans made didn't end when they took off the uniform.

For many, the mission simply changed. Some continue to fight battles we can't see, often carrying the weight in silence while the rest of us go about our daily lives.

One of the greatest things I've witnessed at Warriors Retreat is how Veterans naturally show up for one another. They check in. They lend a hand. They share meals, conversations, and encouragement. They remind each other they're not alone.

What if the rest of us lived that way too?

Freedom came at a cost. This Independence Day, let's honor that sacrifice with more than words. Check on a Veteran. Invite them to dinner. Buy them a cup of coffee. Listen to their story.

The way our Veterans show up for each other should inspire the rest of us to do the same.

🇺🇸Progress happens one step at a time and sometimes on wheels.

This week, one of our Veterans received a new wheelchair, making it easier for him to get around and enjoy the community as we continue putting the finishing touches on Warriors Retreat.

We're also proud to showcase a new planter box built by one of our residents. Seeing Veterans take ownership, contribute their skills, and help shape this community is exactly what Warriors Retreat is all about.

Thank you to everyone who supports this mission and helps make moments like these possible.
