Back to the Races! 🏁

Crews were out this last weekend supporting the drivers and spectators at the Stateline Speedway's SNEVA Memorial races.

Crews got to assist drivers from the fastest cars on the track, as well as support fans and pit crews who were on site for the three days of racing!

4 EMTs spent a combined 60 man hours supporting the races. Also a big thank you to the 5 providers on the home crews who made sure that district was well covered.

Preparing for Summer! ☀️

Yesterday crews were out checking our Landing Zones and preparing for the summer rush! In addition to all the roadways and residential areas in district, we also provide medical care to a large chunk of The Trail of the Couer D'Alenes.

They also took the tine to orient our new drivers to these landing zones, EMS access points, and other important information.

Have a safe Memorial Day weekend from all of us here at Harrison Community Ambulance!

First Concert of the Season! 🎶

Yesterday one of our crews was out supporting the Montgomery Gentry featuring Eddie Montgomery concert at the Stateline Speedway.

On these events the crew is on site to provide medical assistance in a rapid timely manner, and if necessary, stabilize patients prior to transport.

Happy EMS Week!

This week we are extra thankful for the volunteer medical providers and drivers that make up our rock star crew! These individuals get up when the pager goes off in the middle of the night, on Sunday morning, on a snowy day, and rush to fulfill the call to aide.

In addition to high quality emergency medicine the crew also has members with training in ice rescue, pediatric care, ropes rescue, extrication, and EMS education. A long with their skill set they also carry compassion and patient advocacy onto the bus, every time.

We are proud to be your community ambulance! If you see a member around the community please feel free to thank them for their service!

Training 'Dummy' Update!

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far! With the wonderful contributions from the community we have raised about half the funds to purchase updates for some of our training models.

These upgrades will help to provide EMT and ambulance students more realistic scenarios and better practice to continue to serve our community and the surrounding area!

It was a busy weekend!

This weekend we had crews all over the area doing emergency medicine.

This weekend crews were out doing...

2 Non-emergent transfers; where crews transported patients who needed a higher level of care, but weren't stable enough to self transport.

2 Standby events; we assisted our friends out at the Stateline Speedway until the rain and elements eventually won.

2 Emergency calls in district; crews responded to calls locally, providing quick, high quality care.

Driver class testing, two of our drivers students completed their drivers course (more on that to come).

Also a big thank you to our friends at East Side Fire and St. Maries Fire for their support this weekend. We are lucky to have such great neighbors who support us.

We're only 4 days out from our next driving class. Did you know that half the shifts on our volunteer schedule are manned by an ambulance driver?

What You’ll Learn:
- Safe and efficient emergency vehicle operation
- Navigation and communication skills
- Team coordination with EMTs and first responders

After the course, you'll also receive Basic Life Support CPR certification and ongoing training each month.

Who Can Join:
Anyone with a valid driver’s license, a desire to help others, and a commitment to community service! No medical experience required.

Class is Tuesday the 12th and Wednesday the 13th from 6pm-10pm.

If interested please email our training officer at [email protected] or call the office at 208-689-9103.

Day of Destruction!

The ambulance was back out at the Stateline Speedway last Saturday for their 'Day of Destruction event', an action packed night of destruction and mayhem.

The crew; Matt Greer, Hannah Tackett, and EMT student Mike Knott were on standby for both drivers and fans for Saturday's event including a Roller Derby, Cow Tipping, V6 Claimer races, and so much more!

These opportunities allow us to keep our providers sharp and allow for practice of our trauma and motor vehicle accident skills, which in turn helps us keep our community safe.
