We had a great 1st Day of Spring hike with Ranger Dani on March 21st. Several Friends members joined some first time visitors to the park to hike the Lakeshore Loop trail. Speaking of trails...did you know that there is an app with free downloadable maps of TN State Parks? The Avenza Maps app is able to geolocate your position on these digital maps without any internet service! So, download the app and a map, pick a trail, and enjoy your time outdoors without the fear of getting lost. Just remember to charge your phone battery and always take a paper map, too.

Our Friends were happy to host Deputy Commissioner of TDEC Brian Clifford and Director of TN State Parks Chris Padgett, along with Representative Greg Vital and to share that our playground will be getting an upgrade this summer! The Friends have worked tirelessly to get a new playground and we are so thankful that it is happening! Thank you to all those who support the work that we are doing at Harrison Bay State Park.

We were thrilled to be able to assist Ranger Daniels with the distribution of trees to our friends in the community for Tennessee Environmental Council's TN Tree Day event. This was our park's first time participating and we enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people who are planting native trees!
