“Veterans Strong America,” claims to be an organization that assists homeless and at-risk veterans; however, we have no evidence of the support they provide veterans in our area. There have been contacts to this “organization” asking for veteran assistance, to which they refer veterans to reputable organizations/individuals in our area. There are other names associated with this organization, to include “Veterans Village USA” and “A Place for Veterans.”

They have donation boxes all over our county and elsewhere in Michigan. I’m told that they have hundreds of these boxes in various establishments, to include restaurants, gas stations, and the like. I’m also told that they have also expanded the placement of these collection boxes outside of Michigan with maybe over 2,000 of them total. Detectives in Genesee and Livingston have investigated the organization, which is a legitimate 501c3. If you click their website below, they claim to be expanding group homes for veterans in Michigan, Maryland, and Indiana in 2027.

We believe this organization is taking advantage of the goodwill of everyday citizens who will willingly donate to veteran causes. If you come across any of these donation boxes, kindly speak to management at the establishment about removing them.

Several veterans have contacted our office about receiving this postcard in the past few days. A search of the phone number indicates this is not from an official VA source and that it is a nationwide scam targeting veterans. Please do not call this number or give out any personal information to anyone.
