Hi Harrisburg;

Don't forget that tomorrow, at 2:00, we hold the 1st Annual Veterans Memorial located at the Museum. (490 Smith St.) Come and join the VFW and American Legion as we thank them for their service, and honor the men and women who have fought for our country, and those who served in war, turbulent times, and in peace.

The Keynote Speaker is Mary Tallouzi from the Wounded Warrior Project. You'll learn about 1st Lt. Russell Quinn, and steps the City is taking to install a Veterans Monument at the riverfront. Canopies will cover most of the seating, and we'll have water on hand. Come on down, bring the kids and grandkids. Free hand held flags for everyone until supplies run out, and special French/American flag pins donated by Russ Hayworth (Hayworth Wines, and nephew of 1st Lt. Russell Quinn).

Good morning Harrisburg!! It's going to be scorching hot this weekend, with temps hitting well over 90 degrees, but Harrisburg will have an active cooling station at the Public Library (354 Smith St, behind American Market). Come over, say hi and cool down on Saturday from 9am-4pm, Sunday and Monday from noon to 4pm.

The City Wide Cleanup Event has been finalized and will be at Harrisburg High School on Saturday, June 27th from 9am to 2pm (unless capacity is reached before 2pm) !! Please call Republic Services for material specific questions, as they are the final decision makers as to what they will accept or not. See you there!

Thank you KeyBank employees!

KeyBank has an annual Neighbor's Make the Difference day. Sara Jones, Terryl Kaiser, Kimber Claughton and Savannah DiMercurio joined City Staff, including Lori Ross, Jamie Knox, Cathy Nelson, and Michele Eldridge. They came down to help the City plant more flowers and shrubs around City Hall, as we prepare for the 4th of July this year! Sweat Equity took on a whole new meaning with KeyBank helping us to 'dish the dirt' on the hottest day this week!

Hi Harrisburg!

Don't forget that tomorrow, we are holding an Open House (Open Park?) and the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting at 4:30 at our very own Eagle Park!

Come down, check out the park, and the improvements we made (ADA Accessible trails mixed with active trails, (.36 miles), Picnic Tables, Benches, Signs). Vehicular Access to Eagle Park will be open until Labor Day weekend! Thank you to the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, (OPRD) who made this possible with a $75,000 grant!

(To Get There: (Turn at the big concrete water tank!) Turn south onto S. 2nd St., turn east onto Sommerville Ave. At the end of the road, turn right (south) onto the gravel access road, and continue on gravel until you get to the dog park, and surrounding area.)
