Colonial Park is home to a hospital, conventional mall, large strip mall, several small shopping centers, twelve apartment complexes, seven large hotels, seven schools, three assisted living centers, and a currently unoccupied commercial 5-story building. This week is National Telecommunicators Recognition Week! We’d be remiss if we didn’t thank our Dauphin County Department of Public Safety who we work with closely and almost daily to improve the systems use to support responses. Telecommunicators are the first and last people we talk to during an emergency and provide us real-time information often making a significant difference in the outcome of someone’s emergency. For all emergencies, they provide pre-arrival information to save lives and reduce further injury.

If you see one today, thanks a dispatcher for all they do behind the scenes!

Public servants, above all else.

This afternoon while clearing a mulch fire at the Colonial Park Mall, Southside personnel passed an elderly couple with a flat tire. Crews parked and assisted with the tire replacement.

What’s more important to note is that the fire personnel involved didn’t ask for permission or recognition, our personnel constantly make every decision based on being a PUBLIC SERVANT - and that makes every decision easy without guidance!

Please join us in congratulating two of PA’s finest and bravest!
