Today marks 25 years since the September 11, 2001 attacks. A day that changed our nation forever. We pause to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, including the courageous first responders who ran toward danger to save others.

Here in Pennsylvania, we hold especially close the memory of Flight 93 and the 40 passengers and crew members whose bravery in Shanksville prevented further tragedy. Their sacrifice reminds us of the strength and resolve found in our local communities.

PSATC honors the police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and township officials across Pennsylvania who serve and protect our communities every day, carrying forward the spirit of service and sacrifice we remember today.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Pennsylvania’s First Class Township Code dates back to 1931. This year, the Code was officially incorporated into Pennsylvania’s Consolidated Statutes as Part II of Title 73, a significant step in modernizing and organizing the laws that govern Pennsylvania’s First Class Townships.

It’s a good reminder of how local government continues to evolve and why staying current on township law matters to the 93 First Class Townships in Pennsylvania

The 2026 PSATC Summer Meet, hosted by the PSATC Central Region, brought together township officials, business leaders, and municipal innovators for a well-attended day focused on collaboration and practical insight. Featuring guest speakers State Senator Patty Kim and Representative Justin Fleming, the event delivered valuable information on emerging policy trends, impactful community projects, and actionable strategies for local government leadership. Attendees took advantage of extensive networking opportunities throughout the day to share ideas and strengthen professional connections, concluding the event with an evening Harrisburg Senators baseball game at City Island's FNB VIP Suites.

💔With heavy hearts, PSATC shares the sudden passing of Sam Juliano, Commissioner of North Versailles Township and a true champion of local government.
Sam served his community for decades as a Ward 4 Commissioner, and as PSATC President from 2022–2023, he led our association with vision and heart, representing First Class Townships with pride and earning a Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence in 2023.
More than his titles, Sam will be remembered for his warmth and his genuine belief that local government exists to serve people. He was truly part of the PSATC family, and he will be deeply missed.
Our thoughts are with Sam’s family, friends, and the North Versailles community. Rest in peace, Sam, thank you for your service and dedication.
