Today we honor Gloria Steinem and her lifetime of advocacy.

She helped bring sexual violence into public view, challenged the blame placed on survivors, and demanded that women’s experiences be taken seriously. Her journalism and activism gave generations language to name injustice and encouragement to confront it.

We are grateful for her voice and for her contributions to the movement to end sexual violence. We honor her through our continued commitment to listening to survivors, challenging abuses of power, and building communities where everyone can live with safety and dignity.

May her memory be a blessing and a revolution. In our work, we will always carry her memory with us.

This morning, our Chief Operating Officer and Advocacy and Resource Director joined Dr. Elizabeth Letourneau for a Congressional briefing on her new book, One in Five, which makes an urgent case for preventing child sexual abuse.

We were especially excited to bring home a signed copy for our library! 📚

The book makes the argument that child sexual abuse is preventable, not inevitable—and that we are the first generation with the tools to stop it. 💙
