Today we honor by reaffirming our commitment to protecting the rights, safety, and dignity of older Pennsylvanians.

Through our work with the Office of Elder Justice in the Courts, we continue working to:
✅ Safeguard against abuse, neglect & financial exploitation
✅ Expand guardianship monitoring for accountability
✅ Provide education & resources for judges, attorneys & families
✅ Raise awareness to help prevent elder abuse
✅ Promote alternatives to guardianship whenever possible

“Older Pennsylvanians are often among our most vulnerable citizens, and it is our responsibility to ensure they have access to justice and protections against abuse, neglect and financial exploitation,” said Chief Justice of Pennsylvania Debra Todd.

As we approach , we remind all Pennsylvanians to remain vigilant in recognizing and reporting signs of elder abuse. Many older adults suffer quietly due to fear, shame, or dependence on their abuser.
