For Asian American communities, the right to vote is not something we take for granted. Our communities fought for decades to make sure that new Americans, working families, and people who speak languages other than English can participate fully in our democracy.
The federal government illegally accessing sensitive voter information should concern all of us.
Our communities should not have to choose between exercising our right to vote and protecting our privacy. No one should be intimidated, surveilled, or pushed out of our democracy because of where we were born, what language we speak, or when we became a citizen.
Our communities will not be silent while anyone tries to make voting harder or use our personal information to seize more power.
We will decide our future. We will choose our leaders. And we will protect our democracy.
