🚒 Paxtonia Open House — Save the Date! 🚒

We’re excited to invite our community to join us for the Paxtonia Fire Company Open House on Saturday, October 3rd from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM at 125 S. Johnson Street, Harrisburg, PA 17112!

Bring the whole family out for a fun day at the firehouse. Tour the station and our apparatus, meet your local firefighters, check out apparel for sale, enter raffles for some great prizes, and enjoy plenty of activities for the kids.

This is a great opportunity to see where we train, learn more about what we do, and spend some time with the volunteers who serve our community.

Squad 34 operating as the first due engine in the 34-21 box on Sunday morning.

Early this morning at approximately 1:30 AM, Paxtonia Fire Company was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 34-21 box. Dauphin County 911 advised responding units that a fire had been reported in an attached garage.

Squad 34 responded with 5 personnel. While crews were enroute, police units arrived on scene and confirmed fire showing from the garage, prompting the dispatch of the Working Fire assignment.

Squad 34 arrived first on scene, secured its own water supply, and initiated exterior fire attack operations while crews worked to force entry into the structure. Ladder 34 responded with 3 personnel and arrived as the second-due truck company. Ladder crews completed laddering of the structure, conducted secondary searches, and assisted engine company personnel with opening up the building to check for extension and hidden fire.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all responding companies, the fire was brought under control in less than 20 minutes.

After returning from the fire this morning, our crews took some time to rest and recover, but that doesn’t mean the day stopped there. Even after an early morning fire call, training remains a priority at Paxtonia Fire Company.

Later in the day, members gathered for forcible entry training, with newer firefighters gaining hands-on experience and other members working to complete skills sign-offs in their training books.
