Last evening, one of our own, Brawley Ulrey, graduated from Central Dauphin High School!

Since joining Paxtonia Fire Company, Brawley has demonstrated a true passion for the fire service. He has dedicated countless hours to training, learning, and improving his skills to become the best firefighter he can be. His commitment, work ethic, and enthusiasm have not gone unnoticed by our members.

As he begins this next chapter in life, Brawley hopes to pursue a career as a professional firefighter, and we have no doubt that his determination and dedication will help him achieve that goal.

Please join us in congratulating Brawley on this major milestone and wishing him the very best in his future endeavors!

Last night was a busy one for Paxtonia Fire Company crews, responding to two working fires during the overnight hours.

Commercial Structure Fire

Just after 10:00 PM, units were dispatched to the 33-1 box for reports of smoke coming from a pizza shop.

Squad 34 responded with 3 members and was assigned to secure a secondary water supply while stretching the 300-foot handline to the rear of the building. Ladder 34 responded with 2 members and requested a replacement company due to limited staffing. Upon arrival, the Ladder 34 driver accessed the roof at the direction of Command, while the tillerman operated on Side C assisting crews with gaining entry to the rear of the structure.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all responding companies, the fire was brought under control in just over 15 minutes.

Residential Structure Fire

At approximately 2:30 AM, Ladder 34 was dispatched as part of the first alarm assignment to the 50-1 box for a reported fire in the rear of a residence.

Upon arrival, crews were assigned to Side C, where they assisted with opening up and overhaul operations after the bulk of the fire had been knocked down.

Busy Saturday for your Paxtonia Fire Company:

This morning, we had the opportunity to host a joint training with East Petersburg Fire Company. Recently, Paxtonia purchased new Paratech rescue struts to match the rest of the township, and today was all about getting hands-on with that equipment. We were glad to have East Pete join us, giving their newer members valuable training time while our crew got initial experience working with the new struts. Strong partnerships and shared training like this make everyone better on the fireground.

Following training, our engine crew headed over to Old Navy to take part in their Super Safety Event, providing public education and connecting with members of our community.

Meanwhile, our ladder crew made a stop at Rescue Fire Company no. 37 to pick up lunch in support of one of their members who recently experienced a house fire. Supporting each other is what the fire service is all about.

A full day of training, community engagement, and brotherhood—just another day serving our community!

This morning just after 5:00am, your Paxtonia Volunteers were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 34-1 box.

Squad 34, operating in the Township reserve engine, responded with 5 personnel. While enroute, the police department arrived on scene confirming a working house fire on the Charlie side of the structure. Ladder 34 responded shortly after with 4 personnel.

Squad 34 crews stretched a line to the rear of the structure and began fire attack. Ladder 34 crews split operations, with the interior team conducting primary searches while the exterior team laddered the building and operated on the roof.

Thanks to a fast, coordinated effort by all companies on scene, control of the fire was marked in under 15 minutes, preventing further extension.
