Today, on Women’s Equality Day, the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women is releasing the Guide to Starting a County Commission for Women - a practical resource to help counties create local advisory bodies that elevate women’s voices and experiences.

This guide arrives on a day dedicated to advancing equality and ensuring representation.

It provides:
• tools for community listening and engagement
• a clear blueprint for building a Commission
• ready‑to‑use bylaws and templates

Shaped by stories from the State of the Woman Listening Tour, this new guide helps counties build lasting structures where women’s voices inform local decisions.

Data Centers

BREAKING: I just signed an Executive Order implementing the strictest standards in the nation for AI data centers — because I will not allow Pennsylvanians to be bullied by greedy developers and bulldozed by the lawyers working for these big tech companies.

Effective immediately, we’re requiring AI data centers to commit to strict environmental and transparency requirements AND receive approval from the local community if they want to build here.

That’s not all: We’re also removing ALL data centers from our Fast Track permit program and stopping any office or agency under my jurisdiction from signing an NDA with AI data center developers.

I’m putting these developers on notice and letting them know that we will not let them bully Pennsylvanians, disregard our constitutional right to clean air and pure water, and drive up our utility bills.

I’m using the full weight of my executive authority to block the objectionable, unwarranted projects and put the nation’s strictest set of protections in place.

Since 2023, the Shapiro-Davis Administration has secured $35 million—including $10 million in the 2026-27 budget—to provide critical support for planning, training, equipment, and technology upgrades at places of worship, community centers, and other nonprofit institutions across the Commonwealth that primarily serve people or groups who may be targeted by hate crimes.

Based on the reported number of people who visit grant-funded facilities, it is estimated that approximately seven million people across the Commonwealth have been impacted by this funding to date.
