At 9:36pm on Sunday night, the North Box was dispatched for a possible Chimney fire in Harrington Park. Upon arrival of the Chief, the call was upgraded to a working fire and then shortly after, a 2nd alarm. Luckily, all residents were uninjured and first arriving units found the closest hydrant already cleared of snow. Crews worked to extinguish pockets of stubborn fire from the first floor through the attic for more than two hours. Thank you to our mutual aid partners for the assist during the storm, and to the neighbor across the street who cleared their hydrant earlier that day.

Last night, there was a structure fire in town. Luckily, the closest hydrant had been cleared of snow by the property owner allowing our crews to quickly secure a water supply. As you are digging out today, please clear the hydrants on your property or in your neighborhood if they are snow covered. Not only are you helping us, but you could be helping your neighbors during their biggest time of need.
