Today, we honor and celebrate Juneteenth!! A day that marks freedom, resilience and hope!
On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free. That moment became known as Juneteenth, a day that reminds us that freedom is one of our nation’s most cherished values and that its promise should extend to every person.
