🔥 Burn Ban Update – Use Caution 🔥

The burn ban for Oklahoma County has been allowed to expire. While this means outdoor burning is no longer prohibited, we want to remind everyone that conditions can still be dangerous and fires can spread quickly.

If you choose to burn, please use extreme caution:
• Avoid burning on windy days
• Keep a water source or hose nearby
• Never leave a fire unattended
• Make sure your fire is completely extinguished before leaving the area

Even without a burn ban in place, it doesn’t take much for a small fire to get out of control. Let’s all do our part to keep our community safe.

🚨REMINDER🚨

We are still under a burn ban until the 9th at which time it will be reevaluated. We will update everyone here on Facebook whether it was reinstated or allowed to expire.

We’re proud to officially introduce the newest members of our firefighting team… our highly trained Raccoon Wildland Task Force!

These masked bandits have been working around the clock, digging line, mopping up hotspots, and keeping a close eye on things (mostly snacks… but still). Equipped with tiny packs, tools, and an unmatched ability to get into places we can’t, they’ve quickly become an essential part of our operations.

While their professionalism is questionable and their tendency to “borrow” gear is under investigation, their commitment to protecting our community is undeniable.

In all seriousness, we hope everyone has a safe and fun April Fools’ Day! And remember—whether it’s firefighters or “raccoons,” we’re always here when you need us.

Stay safe, Harrah! 🔥

Yesterday, the Harrah Fire Department responded to a fast-moving wildfire in the 600 block of S Harrah Rd in a heavily wooded area. With challenging conditions and the potential for rapid spread, quick action was critical.

We want to extend our sincere thanks to Choctaw Fire Department, Newalla Fire Department, Hickory Hills Fire Department, Southwest Lincoln County Fire Department, and Harrah Police Department for their immediate response and strong support on scene. Your teamwork and dedication were essential in bringing this fire under control.

A special thank you to Old Castle Lawn and Garden for stepping up and providing heavy equipment to cut fire lines, which played a major role in stopping the fire’s progression.

Because of everyone’s swift response and hard work, the fire was successfully contained. This is a strong reminder of how important mutual aid and community support are during high-risk conditions.

🚨ATTENTION HARRAH🚨

The Harrah Fire Department would like to remind everyone that our area is currently under a 14-day burn ban. During this time, ABSOLUTELY NO BURNING is allowed—this includes trash, brush piles, and any outdoor burning activities.

These conditions create a high risk for fast-moving and dangerous wildfires, and we need everyone’s cooperation to keep our community safe.

⚠️ Violating the burn ban can result in serious consequences:
• Fines of up to $500
• Up to one year in jail

We strongly urge everyone to follow the ban and help prevent unnecessary emergencies. If you see smoke or fire, please report it immediately.

Let’s all do our part to protect Harrah and our neighbors. Stay safe!

🚫🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🔥🚫

The Harrah Fire Department wants to inform our community that Oklahoma County is now under a 14-day burn ban.

Due to current weather conditions, including dry vegetation, low humidity, and increased fire risk, all outdoor burning is strictly prohibited during this time. This includes trash burning, brush piles, and any open flames that could potentially spread.

These measures are in place to help protect lives, property, and our first responders.

We ask everyone to do their part:
• Do not burn outdoors
• Properly dispose of ci******es
• Avoid activities that could create sparks
• Report any signs of smoke or fire immediately

Our crews remain ready, but prevention is key. Let’s work together to keep our community safe.

Thank you for your cooperation and support. Stay safe!
