Today on Memorial Day, members of the Blue Ridge Mountain Volunteer Fire Company were honored to host a special Fire Prevention Day for a wonderful group of homeschool students from our local community. 🇺🇸🚒

The students had the opportunity to learn about fire safety, emergency response, firefighting equipment, and the important role firefighters play in protecting our community each and every day. Our members enjoyed spending time teaching, demonstrating equipment, and answering lots of great questions from the kids throughout the day.

We would like to sincerely thank all of the families and homeschool groups who chose to spend part of their Memorial Day with us. Community education and fire prevention are a very important part of what we do, and we truly appreciate the opportunity to help educate the next generation about staying safe.

A special thank you to all of our firefighters and volunteers who helped make today such a success. We are proud to serve this community both on and off emergency calls.

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, all of us at the Blue Ridge Mountain Volunteer Fire Company encourage everyone to celebrate safely while remembering the true meaning of this holiday.

This weekend, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten. ❤️🤍💙

Whether you’re traveling, grilling, swimming, or spending time with family and friends, please keep safety in mind:
🔥 Never leave grills or fire pits unattended
🚗 Don’t drink and drive
🏊 Always supervise children around water
