Our AP U.S. History scholars brought history to life by creating stop-motion animation short films about the Industrial Revolution. From factories and inventions to innovation and change, students showcased their creativity while deepening their understanding of this pivotal era in American history.

School Update:
IDEA Harlingen Families, we hope you and your loved ones are safe after the storm. After conducting an evaluation of our campus, we have made the decision to resume classes at IDEA Harlingen on June 17th, 2026. All school and campus operations will continue as scheduled with student drop-off beginning promptly at 7:30am for Summer school students. While our communities continue to deal with the aftermath of the storm, it is important for students to return to school to remain safe, comfortable, and focused on learning.

Tras realizar una evaluación de nuestro campus, hemos decidido reanudar las clases en IDEA Harlingen el 17 de Junio, 2026. Todas las operaciones del centro y del campus continuarán según lo previsto, con la entrega de los estudiantes comenzando puntualmente a 7:30am. Attention IDEA Harlingen Team & Family, student and staff safety is our top priority. We are continuing to closely
monitor weather conditions in our area as the strong wave of rains approach. Our campus
will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16th, 2026.

We will continue to monitor
weather conditions and update staff and families as needed for decision making on the following days. We encourage you to continue to check IDEA social media pages
and REMIND for more information and updates regarding inclement weather.

✈️🎓 This school year, our 9th and 10th grade Hornets traveled to the East Coast to visit Harvard, Brown, MIT, and Boston University! Seeing these world-class campuses—and students preparing for graduation—helped our scholars envision their own college journeys. 🐝💙💛

The trip also included a visit to the Boston Museum of Science, where learning came to life beyond the classroom. Experiences like these inspire our students to dream big and work hard toward their future goals!

Congratulations to our rising 10th and 11th grade Hornets who are already taking steps toward college success by completing their TSI exams and becoming TSI exempt!

This achievement reflects hard work, dedication, and a commitment to their future. By reaching this milestone, these students are opening doors to dual credit courses, college-level opportunities, and a strong start on their college journey.

And this is only the beginning! We have many more students working toward TSI exemption this summer, and we look forward to celebrating their success in the weeks ahead. We are proud of our Hornets for continuing to raise the bar and take advantage of every opportunity to get ahead.

🐝🎓 Our 6th and 7th grade Hornets had an unforgettable field lesson exploring college campuses and future career opportunities!

Students toured The University of Texas at Austin and the Cockrell School of Engineering, visited The University of Texas at San Antonio and St. Mary's University, and got a glimpse of what their future could hold. They also explored the surrounding communities with visits to Austin's Park & Pizza, Dave & Buster's, and The Shops at La Cantera.

From college exposure to career exploration and real-world experiences, our Hornets spent the trip learning, growing, and dreaming big! 💙💛
