830pm - 8/10/26- Dog has been reunited with owner! Thank you everyone for your help!

Original post:

Our deputies secured this friendly male dog after he was found roaming loose near 10th Street and Court Street in Harlan.

He was wearing a collar and had approximately a 3-foot red leash still attached that appears to have broke.

We would love to reunite this sweet pup with his owner!

Updated information ***
Saturday from 700am until 3 pm the square in downtown Harlan will have restricted access to accommodate the car show. The car show ends at 3pm however RAGBRAI vendors will be allowed to start setting up at 5pm. This means there will be very limited vehicle access to the entire square from Saturday thru Sunday. It
will not be accessible by vehicles at all on Sunday for RAGBRAI

On Sunday, Linden Road from Street F-32/1600th St into Harlan will be closed for RAGBRAI bicycle traffic. People living on this stretch of Linden should travel with caution.

🚨 Shelby County 🚨

It's going to be a busy week in Shelby County!

🏁 Wednesday–Saturday:
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will bring race fans from all over to town.

🚴 Sunday:
RAGBRAI rolls through, bringing thousands of cyclists and support vehicles to our county.

With the increased traffic and visitors, we ask everyone to please be patient, stay alert, and allow yourself a little extra travel time.

Motorists:
- Slow down and stay focused.
- Watch carefully for bicyclists, especially at intersections and when passing.
-Give cyclists plenty of room when sharing the road.

Cyclists:
- Follow traffic laws, ride predictably, and stay aware of your surroundings.
