With construction downtown, SpringFest is going to look a little different this year! But that doesn’t mean we won’t have a party. More info to come! Make sure to follow along on our website: https://www.hardwickdowntown.org

There will be 4 primary ways to get involved:

➡️ March in the Parade
(yes, even through construction)
Make a float, decorate a car, truck, bicycle or any vehicle, march with a group, do something else creative, all entries welcome. This year’s theme is Freedom & Unity! A celebration of our country’s 250th Anniversary and Hardwick’s connected community.

➡️ Be a Vendor or Exhibitor
Foodtrucks, vendors, and organizations are welcome to sign up to participate in SpringFest! You can sign up on our website here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfss0cXBoJ286e0X_hHC00vZiXlkI_HwuLqtcCVIOPtVbEjZQ/viewform?pli=1.
Email
[email protected] with any questions.

➡️ Volunteer
This weekend isn’t possible without volunteers! From trash collecting to helping navigate construction, there’s a position for you. Volunteer sign ups coming soon.

➡️ Sponsor or Donate
Springfest is a volunteer run tradition! We can only do this because of the generosity of Hardwick neighbors and businesses. Businesses can learn more about sponsorship on our website, and anyone can make a donation here: https://hardwickdowntownpartnership.betterworld.org/campaigns/springfest-2026. Checks can be made out to HDP - SpringFest, PO Box 523, Hardwick, VT 05843.

Friday, June 6 @ 7:30 PM
Hardwick Town House

After taking a year off, Black Fly Story Hour, hosted by Annie Houston, is back! Storytellers have 5 minutes to tell a tale on the theme and story listeners get a whole evening of listening in. It’s a hoot every time.

This event’s theme is BUSTED. Have you ever broken something? Busted an arm or a leg? Gotten into trouble? Put your name in the hat to tell your story.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 14 @ 7:00 PM - “Soup to Nuts” lecture with author Rebecca Rupp at the Town House.

After a brief annual meeting, the Hardwick Historical Society presents:

Soup to Nuts: An Eccentric History of Food

This history of what and how we eat encompasses everything from the prehistoric mammoth luau to the medieval banquet to the modern three squares a day. Writer Rebecca Rupp, explores the rocky evolution of table manners, the not-so-welcome invention of the fork, the awful advent of portable soup, and the surprising benefits of family dinners – plus some catchy info on seasonal foods. What’s the story of chocolate? Why do the Irish eat corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick’s Day? Who invented lemonade? Why are turkeys called turkeys? And what are sugarplums anyway?

This talk is free, open to the public, and accessible to those with disabilities. For more information, contact Hardwick Historical Society at (802) 472-6424 or [email protected].
