🚨 UPDATE — MISSING PERSON LOCATED 🚨

The individual the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office had been attempting to locate has been found. Unfortunately, he was located deceased.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and the Grayson County Coroner’s Office are handling the investigation. At this time, foul play is not suspected.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the first responders from the Falls of Rough Fire Department, Caneyville Fire Department, Leitchfield Fire Department, and Grayson County Emergency Management for their assistance with the search.

Several other agencies were either en route or preparing to assist in various capacities when the search concluded. We appreciate everyone who responded, prepared to respond, shared the original post, or provided information during the search.

Please keep Mr. Callahan’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

🚨 MISSING PERSON / ATTEMPTING TO LOCATE 🚨

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate Paul Anthony Callahan, 56, of Louisville, Kentucky.

Callahan’s vehicle was located in the 448 Circle Hill Road area of Falls of Rough under unusual circumstances, and deputies have been unable to locate him. His family reported their last confirmed contact with him was at approximately 4:56 PM on Friday, September 11, 2026.

Description:
• White male
• 56 years old
• Approximately 6’3”
• Approximately 185–190 lbs.
• Bald / closely cropped hair
• Green eyes

Last known clothing:
• Black shirt
• Gray shorts
• White shoes

Callahan is known to have friends and acquaintances in the Rough River / Falls of Rough area and has previously stayed or camped in that area.

If you have seen Paul Callahan, spoken with him, given him a ride, or have any information concerning his whereabouts, please contact Grayson County Dispatch as soon as possible.

**NEW UPDATE 9/10/2026 subject is in custody**** An Irvington Police Officer was shot at while driving his patrol vehicle on patrol near Eva Carmen. This is near Lon Dowell Rd and North Second. The shooter ran off on foot and is believed to have a handgun. Please stay out of the area! Lock your doors and stay indoors. Law enforcement has a heavy presence in the city limits of Irvington.

‼️updated post‼️ ‼️The juvenile has been located safely ‼️‼️
In regard to the runaway juvenile that has made a lot of traction on social media. The Taylor County Sheriffs Office entered the juvenile as missing after it was reported, follow ups have been made. The juvenile does not reside in the area. she’s from Western Kentucky. She was brought here by the foster company to give the foster parents a respite. The foster parents requested this respite due to the fact that this juvenile is a habitual runaway. The juvenile has ran away multiple times according to the State issued caseworkers. The caseworker for this juvenile is aware and we have been in contact with them. Caseworker states that she believes she knows the area where the juvenile is and typically where she goes when she runs away. The law-enforcement in that area are aware and have been looking for her. It is believed friends and family members are hiding her at her request. Again the Sheriffs Office is doing all they can on this case and the authorities in the area of where she is believed to be are as well. Along with the caseworkers of this juvenile. Thank you all for your concerns.

NEWS RELEASE
Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Vehicle-Pedestrian Collision in Cloverport

CLOVERPORT, Ky. (August 31, 2026) –On Monday, August 31, 2026 at 4:33 p.m. CST, the Cloverport Police Department contacted Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 4 regarding a vehicle-pedestrian collision involving an 11-year-old child. The collision occurred on Elm Street near the intersection of Seventh Street in Cloverport (Breckinridge County).

KSP Post 4 Troopers and other emergency personnel responded to the scene and began an investigation. The child was transported by helicopter to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville with life-threatening injuries.

Despite lifesaving efforts, the child succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Jefferson County Coroner at 9:12 p.m. EST.

The preliminary investigation indicates the 11-year-old child was riding a scooter and entered Elm Street, traveling into the path of a passenger vehicle operated by Dalton Kellems, 22, of Cloverport. Kellems stopped and remained at the scene to render aid to the child.

KSP was assisted at the scene by Cloverport Police Department, Breckinridge County EMS, Hardinsburg Police Department and the Breckinridge County Sheriff's Office.

The investigation remains ongoing by Detective Jesse Harp. No further information is available at this time.

This is a tragic incident that has deeply affected the family of the child, the vehicle operator, first responders and everyone involved. Our thoughts and prayers are with the child's family and loved ones during this difficult time.
