Connecting with Our Community at Sun City First Friday!

Today, members of the Hardeeville Police Department attended Sun City First Friday to show our support for the Hardeeville Police and Fire Assistance Fund and share more about its mission and how it helps members of our Police and Fire Departments during times of need.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Hardeeville Police & Fire Assistance Fund, which provides compassionate, confidential financial support to active-duty sworn and civilian members of the Hardeeville Police and Fire Departments during times of personal hardship.

On behalf of Chief Woodward and the men and women of the Hardeeville Police Department, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Hampton County Sheriff's Office Deputy Samuel Holmes.

We mourn alongside the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office and the community as they grieve this tremendous loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with Deputy Holmes’ loved ones, fellow deputies, and all whose lives he touched through his service.

May his dedication and service never be forgotten.

Hampton County Sheriff’s Office is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Deputy Samuel Holmes.

Deputy Holmes joined Hampton County Sheriff’s Office shortly after retiring from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, bringing with him several years of dedicated law enforcement service. During his service with HCSO, Deputy Holmes served as a School Resource Officer at North District Middle School.

“Deputy Holmes was an outstanding officer with a warm, bubbly personality, an infectious smile and a commitment to serving others. He will be deeply missed. Our hearts are with his family, and we ask our community to please keep his family lifted in prayer during this very difficult time.”

The Hampton County Sheriff’s Office family extends our deepest condolences to Deputy Holmes’ family, friends, fellow law enforcement officers and all who had the privilege of knowing him. We will certainly miss Deputy Holmes.

Today, we proudly recognize the two K9s who serve alongside our Hardeeville Police Officers. These highly trained partners play an important role in protecting our community through their courage, dedication, and service.

From locating suspects and missing persons to detecting narcotics and assisting with investigations, our K9s and their handlers work together as an incredible team.

The Hardeeville Police Department is proud of our K9 Unit and grateful for the hard work and commitment they bring to our department and community each day.

This thoughtful contribution serves as a meaningful tribute to the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the sacrifices made on September 11, 2001.

September 11th Ceremony to Honor the Fallen | September 11, 2026 at 10:00 AM

The Hardeeville Police Department and Hardeeville Fire Department cordially invite you to join us for a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

Together, we will honor and remember the lives lost during the tragic events of September 11, 2001, including the brave first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting their communities.

On behalf of Chief Woodward and the men and women of the Hardeeville Police Department, we extend our deepest condolences to the Columbia Police Department and the family and loved ones of Officer DeLong, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

We stand with his family, fellow officers, and the entire Columbia community during this heartbreaking time. Officer DeLong’s courage, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children, fellow officers, and all those who knew and loved him.
