Emmet County DPW is offering a Flood Debris Cleanup Voucher program in response to the April 2026 flooding event. This program provides direct relief to Emmet County households by helping to offset a portion of the costs associated with flood-related debris disposal.

Each voucher, available Thursday, April 23, will allow disposal of up to 2 cubic yards ($72 value) of flood-related debris at the Emmet County Transfer Station, located at 7363 S Pleasantview Rd., Harbor Springs, MI.

Residents seeking a voucher must register in person at the DPW Office, 200 Division Street, Suite G-76, Petoskey, MI.

Residents must provide proof of residence, fill out the voucher form, and utilize the Lake Street entrance for access to the County Building. The DPW office is staffed Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Emmet County DPW encourages Damage Reporting & Documentation

Residents who have experienced damage to their homes or property are strongly encouraged to report impacts. Even minor or partial damage remains important.

Reporting damage helps local and state emergency management officials understand the full scope and severity of impacts across the county. This information supports ongoing assessments and helps determine eligibility for potential state or federal recovery assistance.

Many residents may still be identifying damage—particularly in basements, foundations, and utility systems. Residents are encouraged to report what is known now and update information if additional damage is discovered.

Emmet County OEM crews continue to document overall conditions; however, this does not replace individual reporting. Direct reports from residents remain critical.

Residents are encouraged to:
Take photos of all damage
Keep receipts for cleanup and repairs
Submit a damage report as soon as possible

Damage reports can be submitted online at: 👉 https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/6e1d8996f0704b9fab5395eecd63a65e
