Emmet County has extended the acceptance period for Flood Debris Vouchers currently marked with a July 1, 2026 expiration date. These vouchers will now be honored through August 1, 2026.

The extension reflects the County's commitment to meeting the ongoing needs of residents as flood cleanup continues throughout the community. Eligible households may receive up to two vouchers, a $144 value, for the disposal of flood-damaged debris, helping to offset disposal costs during recovery.

The Flood Debris Voucher Program was established to provide direct assistance to households impacted by flooding and has been expanded through support from the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation Emergency Response Fund.

Program participation and community needs will continue to be evaluated. If additional extensions are determined to be necessary, they will be considered at that time.

This afternoon will be all hands on deck for our Household Hazardous Waste event. The Emmet County Recycling office will be closed downtown Petoskey from 12:30 PM - 5:00 PM today.

Flood vouchers will still be available during this time if you visit the finance office across the hall.

Good News📣 Additional support offered for residents continuing flood cleanup efforts!

The Emmet County Flood Debris Voucher Program has been expanded -- eligible households can now receive up to two vouchers for the disposal of flood-damaged debris at the Emmet County Pleasantview Drop-Off Center/Transfer Station.

✔ Already used a voucher? You may qualify for one additional voucher.
✔ Haven't participated yet? You may receive up to two vouchers total.

The program is available to residences impacted by the April 2026 flooding event and is intended for flood-damaged debris only.

Vouchers are available through the Emmet County Department of Public Works, 200 Division Street, Suite G-76, Petoskey.

Good Morning! We've had a slew of phone calls about options for curbside garbage collection. All household trash haulers are required to be licensed through Emmet County DPW and the current options available are in the image below.
