Although this is not directly in our area, conditions are very similar and volatile. Please, no burning outside of a contained burn ring. We do not recommend burning brush piles at this time due to the extreme dry conditions now upon us.

Yesterday, Friday the 24th we had 2 fire calls

1st was early after. A trailer fire of catob road. Quick response was unsuccessful in saving the trailer but home and truck was saved.

2nd was late evening when a report of a house fire came in on bluff drive near high school. Chief called for additional support from Alanson, Bear Creek and Readmond Friendship right away not knowing the full details. First arriving units accessed that it was a chimney fire and it was contained to the chimney. Additional support was canceled and HS crew worked for a while to contain and extinguish the fire. No injuries and residents could return to home

Access to lower shore drive is now limited to the north entrance of m119. Entrance near birchwood is now closed from m119 to Windemere Drive due to road issues.
