This week we’re trying something new! The map shows current color → projected color by Friday, along with the forecast range of overnight low temperatures for each region.

🍁 Parts of the Western U.P. are already reaching peak, with some areas expected to move past peak this week.

🌡️ Cooler nights should help colors continue to develop across the U.P. and Lower Peninsula, although timing can vary considerably between inland and lakeshore areas.

Our projections combine current state and regional fall color reports, recent local observations, and this week’s weather forecast.

Here’s something fun to look for on your fall color drive this October. 💀🍂 Harbor Springs SkeleTOUR is back, with decorated skeletons popping up throughout the Harbor Springs area all month long.

SkeleTOUR runs October 1–31.

And they aren’t all downtown. You can spot them along the Tunnel of Trees too, including at Good Hart General Store and Legs Inn.

There’s an interactive map to help you find them, and you can vote for your favorite after your tour.
