Unit 2 Command and Happy 95 with 3 personnel along with bystanders put out a small grass fire near Wrangler Feed yards on 2698 this evening. Thank you to all the Happy Fire Volunteers who give of their time to keep this area safe.

As the sun rises on the 20th anniversary of 9/11, I am reminded of just what first responders went through this day. We on the VFD can just begin to imagine the dedication and sacrifice that was provided for so many on this day. Over 20,000 lives were saved this day. We remember the 2977 lost to the brutal attacks. But what makes this country great is the fact that as the sun rose on 9/12, we as a country were United as well be Nation under God. We came together, we mourned together, and we are strong because of it. May we never forget that we are better together. Happy VFD along with Tulia, Nazareth, Silverton, and Kress all came together and did the stair challenge at the Tulia courthouse. 2200 steps for the steps each fireman took that fateful day.
