Happy WORLD BEARD DAY!!
Cheers to the beards that bring character, confidence, and a little extra personality to our nonprofit community!
In honor of World Beard Day, we’re celebrating the veterans who proudly rock their beards! From a 5 o'clock shadow to glorious mane, every beard has a story, and we’re proud to celebrate the people behind them.
So today, if you come across someone with a beard, give them a big hug, and thank them for their fabulous facial hair!

We are proud to share this beautiful look into Veteran's Outdoor Therapy’s recent Horseback Adventure at Coulter Lake Guest Ranch in Colorado this past July.

A heartfelt thank you to Amanda Trudell for using her talents as a videographer to help us tell our story; Forest and Kelly for graciously hosting the event (of course to Dina and Maru as well), and Connie Stone for her leadership and instruction as our Equine Therapy Instructor. Most importantly we are grateful for the wonderful ladies who participated. It was an honor to spend this time with you and thank each of you personally for your service.

We also want to thank every volunteer and donor whose generosity makes experiences like this possible. We'd like to give a specific shout out to Military Order of the Purple Heart, USA for their grant this summer as well in support of this event.

Stories were told, memories were made and healing was in the air!! Veterans from Georgia and Missouri found the fish and maybe found a new hobby in the outdoors. Thank you Rainbow Drive Resort for hooking them up with an awesome guide and Natural State Fly Shop for the wader rental.

We are excited to announce another trip added to the list!! We've teamed up with the Branson/Springfield chapter of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. to offer four Veterans a weekend learning to fly fish on the White River in Arkansas. This is all possible because of YOU, our supporters, showing up in a big way at our banquet, Poker Run, and events!! We are truly grateful for all of you and your support!!

Purple Heart Day | August 7

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. The Purple Heart is more than a medal. It is a symbol of sacrifice, resilience, and an enduring commitment to something greater than oneself.

While Veterans Outdoor Therapy does not serve solely Purple Heart recipients, we most definitely have served many within our ranks. Their courage, perseverance, and brotherhood continue to inspire our mission every day.

As the founder of Veterans Outdoor Therapy, I am humbled to share that I am also a Purple Heart recipient. That distinction is one I carry with deep respect for those who sacrificed far more than I ever did.

Today, we honor every Purple Heart recipient, past and present. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering dedication to our nation.

Today we wanted to give a special shoutout to Brittany, one of our amazing volunteers! Her kindness, enthusiasm, and willingness to lend a helping hand have made a huge impact.

As the daughter of two Army veterans, Brittany has been part of the military and VOT family since the beginning. She often volunteers her time to staff vendor booths, she creates beautiful embroidery and other VOT products, and she helps us spread the word about our organization throughout the community.

Thank you, Brittany, for your incredible generosity, and for sharing your time, energy, and heart with us. We're so grateful to have you as part of our family, and we can't wait to see all the wonderful things you'll continue to accomplish!

We’re still at it! Up here at Coulter Lake Guest Ranch with our female Veterans and we are having a blast!

In the past few days we’ve gone over basic grooming, tacking the horses, round pen work and beginning riding practices.

In addition we were able to do some off roading along with a hike through Rifle Falls State Park.

Ladies gathered from Alabama, Wisconsin, South Dakota along with two from Kansas City, MO today for the 1st Annual Coulter Lake Guest Ranch Horseback Riding Adventure in Beautiful Rifle, CO.

Sincere gratitude to our hosts Kelly & Forest Keith, Dina, and Maru for opening up your home and ranch to us.

In addition to the Military Order of Purple Heart, USA for helping fund us in our first year!

Appreciate all of you for giving back to our Female Veterans who have served overseas!

Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors and participants who showed up and supported our 2nd Annual Poker Run yesterday.

We had a great time while raising money to support Veterans and Gold Star families at the same time. Win-Win!

Looking forward to seeing yall again next year.
