The HHS History Collection contains a number of artificial Christmas trees which were used to celebrate special occassions and to showcase various aspects of a small town like Hapeville. The large tree that is shown in this picture, along with the oversized ornaments and a carrying case, is looking for a new home. The size can be seen from this picture which shows the tree in front of the bay window in the depot main room. Anyone interested in the tree and assessories would need to be able to pick it up. A donation to the Hapeville Historical Society would be welcome but is not necessary.

Message Charlotte Rentz for additional information.

The Hapeville Historical Society is proud to announce our new Facebook rebranded page name: The Hapeville Historical Society History Collection! This page will continue to feature gems from the Collection and archives as well as glimpses into ongoing preservation and documentation of Hapeville’s history for future generations.

The Depot Museum is now under new leadership and has just published a brand-new page for the Hapeville Depot Museum and Visitor Center. That new page will share future exhibition news, tour information, gallery openings, event updates and much more.

Both pages work in tandem and as always, the Depot Museum and the Historical Society are proud to continue their missions in preserving and presenting the history of Hapeville. Please give both pages a “Like” and thank you for your continued support. We hope to see you soon!

The Hapeville Depot Museum is operated by the Hapevile Historical Society and is open for visitor drop-in & browsing Wednesday - Saturday 1 pm to 4 pm. Yesterday June 1, however, the Museum was closed to the public during a day long retreat for the Hapeville Elementary School (HES) Leadership Team. It was both an honor and humbling to sit with such hard working and talented people that work with our young people in Hapeville. The Historical Society is looking forward to next school year possibilities of working with HES.

Thank you Kathy Witt and Georgia Magazine!

The Hapeville Historical Society's History Collection serves as a resource for residents, researchers, and others interested in historical events and locations in and around Hapeville Georgia. Internally classified as "Special Services" we provide research assistance to individuals working on family history and other research projects. Such was the case with Kathy Witt who contacted us for information regarding "Hapeville's Worry Rock."
