Dear Middle School Parents,

As summer winds down, the library wishes students and families a wonderful start to the new school year!

Our library loves being a welcoming, comfortable place for young people to learn and spend time with friends. As we look forward to this year's first early release day, the library encourages parents to talk with their children about appropriate library behavior.

On early release days, we often see a large number of middle school students visit the library and would appreciate your help in keeping the library a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable space for everyone! Your support is much appreciated.

Want to help? Ask about becoming a parent volunteer at our Half-Day Hangout program. Extra assistance on these busy days would make a big difference!

Join us at the library on Tuesday, September 8th at 6pm for an inspiring presentation from Girl Scout Troop 82684! The girls will share their Leave No Trace project, and how they're earning their Girl Scout Silver Award by educating our community and protecting Hanson's natural spaces.

Their presentation includes:
🎞️ A slideshow of their project journey
🍃 The seven "Leave No Trace" principles
🗑️ Real litter and debris collected from local trails
🤝 Their partnership with Green Hanson and the Hanson Conservation Committee to bring educational signage to Hanson trails

Great for all ages, especially older kids, teens, and adults who care about nature and community service. Come support these amazing young leaders! 💚
