Last week, we recognized National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, but the work we celebrated doesn’t fit into just one week.

Behind every call answered and every radio transmission is a professional showing up with focus, compassion, and resilience. That doesn’t end when the recognition does: it continues, shift after shift, day after day.

As we reflect on , we’re proud of the telecommunicators across Virginia who serve their communities with professionalism and purpose. Your voices are steady when it matters most, and your impact reaches further than most will ever fully realize.

At Virginia APCO, our commitment doesn’t start and stop with one week of recognition. From the console to the Capitol, we will continue to support, advocate for, and elevate this profession every day.

Shift Spotlight: Training Division & Academy Students
Our Training Division is powered by a dedicated training team—a Senior Supervisor and Training Assistant/Academy Lead—who guide, coach, and mentor every step of the way. Alongside them are two driven trainees, putting in the work, building their skills, and preparing to become the next generation of 911 professionals.

From first day jitters to first solo shift, this group represents both the experience that leads and the future that’s rising—working together to make learning engaging, supportive, and maybe even a little fun. 💙
