After considerable deliberation, the Hanover Firefighters Local 2726 Union has decided to support the Town of Hanover’s current and proactive measures to ensure that public services can continue to be funded responsibly.
While we understand the hardship of increasing taxes, we also understand that without the Town’s proposed override on May 6, our Fire Department and the level of service that we can provide you will be compromised. The proposed budget without the override includes the loss of a firefighter position, overall reduced staffing 15% of the year, and reduction of the call department.
Local 2726 is proud to serve the Town and its residents with exceptional professional services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Despite the outcome of the Town’s override request, we are committed to doing the best job that we can for you. However, we are hopeful that the override passes, giving us a greater chance to fulfill our commitment.
In closing, we ask you to consider please strongly voting YES on the override vote scheduled for Monday May 6.
