Republican state delegate Brian Chisholm said county property is owned by the public, not by county executives.

“For him to take this authoritarian view that I am going to step in the way of public safety because I don’t like the way ICE operates, I think it’s a dereliction of duty,” Chisholm said.

Chisholm also criticized Maryland’s Community Trust Act, which limits when local law enforcement and jail officials can cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.

“There’s nothing about it that is going to build trust in the community,” Chisholm said. “It is, once again, picking and choosing which laws we want to enforce.”

Are you okay with paying more on your electric bill every month to help fund a wealthy nonprofit with direct ties to an elected official?
Spotlight on Maryland’s Patrick Hauf released a great story on this Tuesday evening, and Friends of Mark Fisher and I discussed in detail why this practice should concern every Maryland ratepayer.
These programs are quietly taking money from your electric bill through a hidden tax and redistributing it through grants, often to politically connected organizations, while families and businesses are already getting crushed with rising energy costs.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I think Marylanders deserve to know exactly who is getting this money, why they are consistently failing audits as reported by Fox45, how they are connected, and why you are being forced to pay for it.
Check out the podcast, look at the facts, and let me know what you think.

🏅 MARYLAND FREEDOM CAUCUS TOPS CONSERVATIVE SCORE CARD FOR SECOND YEAR

The new Institute for Legislative Analysis Score Card is OUT and the Maryland Freedom Caucus brings home "all As" for the 2026 session.

This GOP Platform-Aligned Score Card shows voters who keeps their campaign promises and sadly, who falls very short.

“Republican voters deserve to know who actually delivers on the platform they campaign on,” said Delegate Matt Morgan, Chair of the Maryland Freedom Caucus. “For the second straight year, Freedom Caucus members led because we kept our word. We voted for limited government, lower taxes, constitutional rights, secure communities, parental rights, and the conservative values our constituents sent us here to defend.”

While Maryland Freedom Caucus members delivered, too many other Republicans slipped. Two dozen GOP lawmakers dropped more than five points from last year’s scores. That drift is unacceptable.

“Maryland families are getting crushed by higher taxes, skyrocketing energy costs, soft-on-crime policies, and assaults on parental rights while the Annapolis one-party machine grows more extreme,” said Vice Chair Delegate Kathy Szeliga. “This is no time for Republicans to drift left or water down our principles. Voters sent us to be a strong conservative voice. We will stand our ground and fight for the promises we made.”

They count on taxpayers being too busy to notice.

But Marylanders work too hard to watch their money disappear into politically connected programs with failed oversight.

Governor “Downgrade” Moore is now bond shopping like he’s running Countrywide Mortgage in 2007. Spoiler alert: the ending is not good!

Good news, Maryland voters: Annapolis has everything under control, except the ballots, the voter rolls, the verification process, and basic public confidence. Other than that, flawless. Check out this 2026 hearing if you want a masterclass in what Maryland voters are up against. Hard for "Non-Citizens" to vote. SMH!!!
