The above part of the graphic shows Question 3 as written by Democrats in the General Assembly. Below is Question 3 as rewritten by the Supreme Court of Maryland.

The revised question still opens by discussing the redistricting requirements of the Maryland General Assembly. Does anyone really believe that's why the General Assembly called a special session? Not a chance, and Governor Wes Moore's own proclamation said so.

Despite the Maryland Constitution requiring that amendments be single-subject, Maryland is breaking new ground for the first time in its history: a single ballot question will contain three separate components.

Even more troubling, the Supreme Court gave Maryland Democrats the green light to violate the Declaration of Rights in redistricting.
The Majority's rewritten ballot question is still misleading. Maryland voters would have no way of knowing that the criteria being removed include the protections guaranteed by the Declaration of Rights. These are the sacred rights that shield Marylanders from government overreach. If this amendment passes, Articles 7, 24, and 40 of the Declaration of Rights will no longer apply to congressional redistricting. Those are the very provisions that allow Marylanders to challenge a district map drawn to target religious minorities or punish citizens for their political beliefs.

The average Maryland voter would not understand that a vote for Question 3 is a vote to strip away rights they currently hold under the Declaration of Rights.
Sad day for all Marylanders. Vote NO on Question 3.

I’m disappointed in today’s Supreme Court of Maryland ruling, and I strongly disagree with the remedy the Court chose.

Throughout this case, there was near-universal agreement on one critical point: the ballot question written by Annapolis Democrats was misleading. Allowing Marylanders to vote on a constitutional amendment under misleading language strikes at the very protections of free and fair elections guaranteed to every Marylander by our Maryland Declaration of Rights.

The Court recognized the problem.

But instead of striking the defective question from the ballot, the Court essentially corrected the Democrats’ homework for them.

That’s where I strongly disagree.

When government fails to follow the rules, especially when it is asking Marylanders to amend their own Constitution, the remedy should not be for the Court to step in, rewrite the question, and fix the government’s mistakes.

The rules should apply to everyone, including the people who write them.

This case was never simply about redistricting or one ballot question. It was about something much more fundamental:

Can the government ignore the laws and constitutional protections designed to ensure Marylanders receive a fair, transparent, and lawful election process and then rely on the courts to repair the damage afterward?

I believe the answer should be an unequivocal NO.

Our Constitution belongs to the people of Maryland, not the politicians in Annapolis. And Marylanders have a right to know exactly what they are being asked to vote on before they are asked to change it.

This fight isn’t over. Along with our legal team at the Oversight Project, we are considering our next steps.

I’m incredibly grateful to Mike Howell, Senator Steve Hershey, and Senator Justin Ready for standing with us as co-plaintiffs, and to the entire legal team at the Oversight Project for fighting this case all the way to Maryland’s highest court.

Whatever comes next, one thing will not change:

I’ll keep fighting for transparency.
I’ll keep fighting for accountability.
And I’ll keep fighting for a Maryland where the government follows the same rules it expects every Marylander to follow.

Governor Wes Moore wants to build a national political profile on YOUR dime. And apparently, if your rights get in the way, his allies in Annapolis believe they can simply write themselves an exemption.

I will not stand idly by while Annapolis Democrats treat the law as an inconvenience and your constitutional rights as collateral damage.

Today, we head to the Supreme Court of Maryland to remind Governor Wes Moore and the Annapolis Democrats of a simple truth: A SUPERMAJORITY DOES NOT MAKE YOU A KING.

No governor or legislature is above the law.

The rights of Marylanders must be upheld, protected, and respected. We’re going to keep fighting for them.

Apparently the new government definition of “fraud prevention” is:

Step 1: Spend taxpayer money.
Step 2: Someone asks where it went.
Step 3: Try to stop them from looking.

California = Maryland

Now a second judge has agreed: Having a supermajority does NOT make you a king.
