Welcome back, Hanover students! We wish all our students and families a wonderful school year filled with learning, new opportunities, friendships, and plenty of great moments along the way. Have an amazing 2026–2027 school year!

The start of a new school year always brings renewed energy, optimism, and excitement to our entire school community. As our students return, they will find countless opportunities to learn, grow, and excel in our classrooms, on our stages and athletic fields, through our Office of Family and Community Engagement offerings, and through the friendships and connections that make coming to school such an important part of their lives.

In an ever-changing world, our schools remain steady, safe, innovative, and exciting places where every student can discover new interests, take on meaningful challenges, realize their potential, and prepare for the future. Our dedicated educators and staff are ready to support, encourage, and inspire students throughout the year ahead.

The accomplishments, character, and commitment of our students and staff continue to be a tremendous source of pride for the entire Hanover community. We are grateful for the support and partnership of our families and community members, who help ensure that our schools are places where students of every age feel a strong sense of belonging, believe in their potential, and have every opportunity to succeed.

Welcome back, and best wishes for a successful, rewarding, and memorable school year!

Sincerely,

Matt Ferron
Superintendent

As the summer comes to end, we want to thank Ryan Costello, Hanover High School Class of 2027, for all of his hard work with the Town of Hanover!

Ryan actually started interning with us last November, helping prepare for the November 2025 Special Town Meeting and later the May 2026 Annual Town Meeting. This summer, he jumped into even more projects, from interviewing and working with department heads and writing about water conservation to helping with transfer station permits and election preparations.

Ryan was great to work with and always willing to learn, help out, and take on something new. We really appreciated having him as part of the team and all that he contributed along the way.

As Ryan heads into his senior year, we wish him an awesome school year and all the best in what comes next. Thank you, Ryan!

Today, August 27, 2026, is Anthony Mann’s (Hanover Public Schools Class of 2024) final day as a Summer Intern. Anthony developed and presented data and made recommendations that were adopted by the Select Board for Hanover’s Fiscal Year 2027 water rates. He also helped transition the Town’s finance department to a new budgeting software approved by the May 2026 Annual Town Meeting.

However, his largest and most significant contribution to the Town this summer was the time he spent helping run the Treasurer/Collector Office – the busiest office in Town Hall. His intelligence, positive attitude, and exceptional people skills were evident from his first day and carried through his 3+ months this summer. He became an invaluable member of our Team, especially the Finance Department.

We wish he didn’t have to go back to college and we could keep him here forever! Anthony is returning to Sacred Heart University for his junior year. An accomplished athlete, Anthony wrestles for Sacred Heart, and we wish him a tremendous amount of success in his upcoming season.
