The Lower Alloways Creek Police Department recognized the outstanding efforts of Officers Mulholland and McHenry for their dedication, professionalism and commitment to serving our community. They were recognized today at the Salem County FOP Awards Ceremony. Ptl. Mulholland received 1 Life Saving Award, 1 Life Saving w/ Valor Award, 1 Meritorious Award and 1 Medal of Honor Award. Ptl. McHenry received 1 Medal of Honor Award. Congratulations! We are grateful for their leadership.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of retired officer Edmund “Sarge” Hill, a dedicated member of the Lower Alloways Creek Police Department. Hill served our community with honor and commitment for 32 years, leaving a legacy of service and professionalism. We extend our deepest condolences to the Hill family, friends and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him. Thank you for your service Sarge.

Sgt. Edmund R. Hill, LACPD (ret), of Lower Alloways Creek Township, fondly know by friends and family as “Sarge” passed away Monday evening, February 2, 2026 at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial services at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Monday morning February 9th at 11 o’clock.

Pastor Lori Mitchell, pastor of the Fairton United Methodist Church, will officiate.
The burial will take place at a later date at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday morning from 9:30 until 11.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, PO Box 414238, Boston, MA 02241-4238 (themmrf.org) or St. Jude Children’s Cancer Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
