We have a new Libby partner library! It is Jackson District Library and this brings us up to 15 total library systems you can borrow from on Libby. If you don’t know how to use these other libraries, give us a call or stop in and let us show you how. This is a terrific Libby benefit and adds so many more options. And if you aren’t using Libby for your audiobooks (for free!), maybe now is the time to start 😊

Good news first, right?

A lot of people showed up at the Hancock School Board meeting last night to speak on our behalf. They said lovely things about our library and staff, and we are very, very grateful. Thank you everyone!

Bad news second, right?

While some constructive options came up at the meeting, and will be pursued going forward, and contract discussions are ongoing, it does not look like any of the possible options going forward might include funding for Hoopla. Therefore, reluctantly, due to budgetary constraints, we will be discontinuing Hoopla on June 30th.

The Class of 2026 took their “what I’m doing after I graduate” photos in the library this morning. They are the first class of 6th-graders that we welcomed to the library under the PLDL management contract. They are ALSO the first class since we’ve been here to graduate with ZERO lost books to pay for! We must be doing something right 😉

As of now, the library will be open regular hours tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday. We plan to have storytime at 1:00pm Friday, and the Jazz Jam Session on Saturday at 2:00pm.
