My project is building a memorial for the 4 firefighters who were killed on Jenkins MTN in Hampton,TN on 2/27/1954.The memorial will be located at the Hampton VFD with a perfect view of Jenkins Mtn.100% of all funds will go toward building this memorial.

Prayers for all the family and friends today. The tragedy from the Jenkins Mtn Wildfire happened, 71 years ago today; I am proud that this memorial is now in our community. We will never forget the price these four brave men paid that day to protect our community.

So thankful for the invite from Chaplain Paul N. Trumpore Sr., to attend the National Fallen Firefighters service at the National Fire Academy in Maryland. I got to see the bricks for Kenneth Pierce, Harman Carden, and Jerry Woods at the fire academy. I am glad they will be placing a brick for Robert Simerly beside his friends in the near future at this location.

They were a misprint in the JC Press about the starting time for the dedication today. The service starts at 5PM today. (not 2pm) It has both times in the press but 5PM is the correct time.

If you are attending the dedication this Saturday remember to bring a lawn chair. The weather is showing rain, if it is raining we will do the dedication inside the Hampton VFD fire hall. I personally know who controls the weather, so I am asking that the rain can stop in Hampton just before 5PM long enough for our service.
