***UPDATED BELOW***
The Town of Hampden and the Hampden Historical Society are celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States by honoring the soldiers who fought for our independence, and who were living in Hampden at the time of the Revolutionary War. We celebrate them for helping to found our country. Please stop by Hampden Historical Society, or perhaps even visit the cemetery at which each are buried, to express our profound gratitude for their valiant efforts and dedication as we recognize the importance the Town of Hampden had in helping to establish our country.

This wonderful monument was an idea born of and executed by life-long Hampden residents, Ellyn Chase and Will Nickerson.

UPDATE: Merton Bagley just contacted us to let us know that he just finished an interview with WABI TV5 and the story about the monument will be on air tonight, June 10th at 5:30 p.m.
